First day of spring and meteorologist adam joseph is outside with some springlike conditions but with a coat on. Still snow around there, too. Theres a lot of snow around here but you know what you probably notice its melting pretty quickly today. A lot of puddles on the roads, the park pentagon lots and agaiparking lots. Temperatures is across the i95 corridor. 53 in washington, 56 in richmond, 65 in roanoke and here in philadelphia, 54 degrees and you couldnt be any more perfect for the first day of spring cause that 54 is our average High Temperature for this date. We had all that sun for the first part of the day and no you some high clouds are coming in from the west and oh, some other good news, one month from today our normal high jumps to 66 degrees so were starting to see a quick climb in those average High Temperatures. There are the clouds coming from the west and the north. That is a warm front and you can see the rain moving away from the ohio valley down into the virginias. So, some big swings in temperatures this week. Yes, its going to be warm and yes, its going to be cold so we have kind of the split season of both winter and spring as we look at that sevenday forecast but it stays mainly dry and then warmth comes in for the weekend. Alicia, ill have all those numbers coming up in that full accuweather forecast. Ill be looking forward to that adam. Thank you. As far as the calendar is concerned it is the official first day of spring today. Mother nature may still be warming up to that idea and leaving many of us yearning for warmer days ahead, struggling to find the signs of this new season. It is cold and it does not feel like spring but it should be spring because it says its spring but its not spring. Reporter its hard to think about spring when theres still snow on the lawns and some of the benches in cadwalader park. You might want to wait on planning a picnic. Today is the first day of spring. Does it feel like it to you . No. Feels like winter. Reporter it does, doesnt it. Half of winter. Reporter which is wholly disappointing to some. At stony brook gardens in pennington the hot house is full of flowers that will give you a spring feeling but our wacky and weather hasnt been easy for farmers and growers like chris willy.
