Police say inside, an offduty Philadelphia Police officer got into an argument with a 19yearold man who police later identified as his son. Were still trying to figure that out, whether it was intentional or not. Reporter the son is list the in critical but stable condition at aria toursdale hospital. Police say the gun that was fired during the argument was not the officers policeissued weapon. The officers younger son and another person were also inside during the shooting. Lets look at how things are going in the accuweather forecast. So far so good today. Adam Joseph Standing outside with rest of the story. Hey, adam. Were heating things up, especially after what you could call one of the most beautiful stretches of the Summer Season when you take look at the temperatures and the dew points, in fact. In philadelphia, thursday was just 81 degrees, below average. 45, 83. 79 on saturday. 82 on sunday. We started a warmup yesterday to 86 degrees. And presently right now, were also at 86, though. We topped off so far at 88 in philadelphia. 90 in wilmington. 88 in reading and that north. Northwesterly wind at the shore. Temperatures a bit cooler as the sea breeze is trying to take effect but also whats happening there is we have a lot of clouds scraping the coastline, holding those numbers back. And its all because of hermine, which, as you can see, it continues to drift to the west and now the clouds aring bag into philadelphia and rain is almost scraping the coastline because of hermine. In fact, this is one of the leading bands, the western side of hermine, that continues to pivot in from the east so it could scrape some of the coastal communities as we go through the evening hours with some brief, gusty winds and some showers. Temperatures, though, as hermine eventually goes back out to sea, the heat is going to rush in from the west. 90 right now in cincinnati. 90 so far today in atlanta. 93, st. Louis, memphis, dallas, 92 in wichita sa sitting at 91 degrees. Well be talking about july temperatures in september. A lack of rain yet again and a record to fall in that sevenday forecast. A northbound accident just out of the work zone here by cottman avenue. They have it pushed off to the side and it doesnt look like a whole lot. But for a while it was blocking two of the left lanes in the work zone. Thats why the northbound travel time on 95 is so long so slow as you come out of center city up into the great northeast this afternoon. We also had a crash here on 202, also doesnt look like much now because its gone. The northbound accident past route 29 is cleared out of the way. So northbound traffic headed toward king of prussia is moving better. But big problems elsewhere in chester county. Theres a wreck shutting down route 22 near supplely road. You want to avoid that. Pennsylvania turnpike looks pretty pretty good at this point. We just showed you the overturned dump truck that spilled the gravel in bucks county so 113 is still closed there for the cleanup. Up next, meteorologist adam joseph with that exclusive accuweather sevenday forecast next. It hit me when you said it before. Heat wave number seven. Incredible. We thought we were done with august with the hottest august in philadelphias history. And here we go. September already mimicking august as we get into the first week. As we take a look at stormtracker 6 live double scan, you are seeing some rain bands moving in and these are in response to hermine off the coast that continues to move from the east to the west. We started to see some showers develop in ocean county, parts of burlington county, near long beach island, and this will continue to pivot from the northwest to the south and east. And you can can see this heavy band of rain thats just about ten miles off the coast of surf city. Some lighter showers now moving in from the north and the south. But well watch this band to see how far west this could track but it could very well scrape, especially Atlantic City, that sticks out a little bit further there as it makes its migration. But again, hermine still a good 200, 250 miles to our east, at least the center of it. As we look at temperatures right now, because of the clouds and some showers, beach haven now down to 74 degrees. Trenton with some thicker cloud cover as well, 82 degrees. But where you break away from close clouds around the storm, it is hot. 90 in wilmington. Upper 80s for reading. 89 in los angeles. That is where the 89 in lancaster. That is where the sun shining. Millville in between with a mixture of sunshine and clouds. There you see the spin. Earlier today, the center of the storm was right about here. Now it is right about there. So it continues to make that westerly jog at about 5 miles an hour. And it will be the closest to our coast by tomorrow morning. So, again, a lot of clouds east of philadelphia. Some of that rain, the rain bands wrapping in and the winds still sustained around 50 miles an hour creating rip currents and strong swells along the shore and even as high tide late this morning, early this afternoon. Got some pictures of the back bays flooding. Right now tonight, though, clear to the west for the overnight hours. Clouds and showers to the east, especially showers right along the shore. 70 or so for a low there. 60s elsewhere. Allentown, 65. And it still feels very comfortable right now because in the western side of hermine, were bringing in dry air. So those dew points are in the 50s. And the 60s. But as hermine eventually goes out to sea later on this week, its going to allow the southwesterly winds to come in. And you can see the tropical air just waiting to move back to the east with dew points in the 70s. And that arrives here on thursday. So for tomorrow, hermine goes back to the east, which means we go back to 91, warm front to our north, slightly more humid, and then the triple h is here for thursday. That is hazy, hot, humid, 95 degrees as were awaiting a cold front. And it could feel between 95 and 100 in some spots in the afternoon. The exclusive accuweather sevenday forecast hot, moderately humid here tomorrow, 91 with sun and clouds. Very hot, tropically humid on thursday, probably the worst feeling day of the sevenday of 95. Partly sunny, hot but a little less humid. Some dry air tries to come in on friday. And then record heat for saturday, back up to 96 ahead of a cold front. The humidity comes up as well. And then behind that cold front well start humid sunday morning with clouds or a shower, but then youll start to feel the drier air come in sunday afternoon as temps drop into the 80s and then very pleasant monday, tuesday. High pressure comes in, low humidity, and temperatures in the lower 80s. So were looking at probably four or so days if we dont hit 90 today, four or so days of heat wave number seven. My goodness.
