I think everyone is looking forward to hearing from the president and future Vice President , tim kaine. What does this message need to be . I think we want to hear why Hillary Clinton is the right choice, we are looking for that unity season we are getting closer each day and i think tonight can go a long way. The message needs to be continues on sync with unity, we have seen what hillary has done throughout her entire career, her husband, our former president , bill clinton, delivered an incredible message that everyone can relate to, i think if they repeat that again and talk about her as a person, people can see why she is the obvious choice. Its clearly about unity, and a positive message. I dont know if you were here for the practice performances, what the world needs now is love, and the whole different message that the Democratic Convention is giving that the Republicans Convention simply did not. Is he proud to be second in command to Hillary Clinton on the democratic ticket. How many times have women stood to support male candidates and male president s and been rock solid in support of them. I think its great for men to be able to stand and support strong Women Leaders across this nation. Kaine also talked to delegates from florida and iowa earlier today. We are still awaiting the arrival of air force one, the president is expected to land in philadelphia at 9 45 tonight but Vice President , joe biden, and his motorcade are already out and about in philadelphia today. The secret service blocked area around 13th this morning. Vice President Biden was at mcgillins old ale house to meet with the pennsylvania delegation. Meanwhile donald trump is drinking his campaign to Pennsylvania Holding a town hall in scranton but it was his News Conference that raised a lot of eyebrows when trump said this. Russia if are you listening i hope you able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing, i think he will probably be rewarded mightily by the press. Lets see if that happens. That will be next. This comes amidst the swirling controversy that the russian government hacked into the Democratic National committee in order to sway the election into trumps favor. He openly encouraged saying he liked it very much and would like to see Hillary Clintons email. He denied involvement with the russian government and failed to release his tax documents. Meanwhile protests across philadelphia touching it out in the heat to make their voices heard. Bob brooks is live near the Comcast Center with more on those protests and that was one of the targets today bob. Reporter yes brian, things got tense at the Comcast Center, so much so the protesters stormed inside of the building and lirnged themselveses to railings inside. As a result of that there are police all around the perimeter of the building, keep things safe for all protests today. And we are hearing from the commissioner of police they have been. One group of pro tests were able to beat the heat. But only for a few minutes. Look at these pictures, they stormed inside of Comcast Center and zip tied themselves tos to railing. Their message the media has nothing to say they were taken into custody and given citations and sent on their way. According to commissioner ross, their protest was passionate but peaceful. Extremely, like the group out here. Then back to the protest line. We are demonstrating against comcast. We have strong convictions that the media has been polluting and cooperating with the manner in which the dnc has corrupted and stolen our democracy. Not far away from the thomas paine plaza, feel the person continues. Though he is not the democratic nominee, the black men for bernie says they are ready to continue the fight that the vermont senator started. We have thousands of people that put a lot of work in to put forth a progressive movement, so what this is, is a celebration of those efforts. Reporter yes, that relief is a little bit of a drop in humidity here this afternoon. But being outside here on the grounds of the Wells Fargo Center it feels hotter today than it did yesterday despite that is not the case, because there is less of a breeze, you are not breathing as well, so spoke speak. Its in the 92 in allentown and 90 in wilmington but the shore with the wind coming in at the shore. 80 cape may and 83 at the Atlantic City airport. Factor into its humidity its fairly low and the 92 in philadelphia only feels like 93, its basically the same and 91 in reading and 100 in dover and more humid down to the south and cape may 85 degrees is the current heat index. It drops there and there are storms that pass through and most of them are off the coast, stormtracker 6 live double scan. There is an another flair up in fortescue, heading towards sea isle city, that got hammered a short time ago as the flooding rains passed by. No motorcades now for the afternoon rush and the protesters are mostly on the local city streets, the more major arteries like broad street and local vine are open, unlikeied afternoon. Vine street expressway underneath all open and at this point traffic is not moving terribly. Eastbound approaching 95 you have the check point and vehicles over 5 tons dont get on the southbound side of 95, the two check points on 95 are causing delays one again this afternoon. Hopefully are you used to that by now. And all the big, heavy vehicles are detoured over here to the platt bridge where a vehicle broke down in the eastbound lanes coming away from 95. Both lanes open heading towards 26 and street. Tacony palmyra bridge is open for a ship, and expect an open at the burlington bristol bridge in just a bit. Alicia its still pretty hot down here especially on the boardwalk but the farther away you move from the convention the cooler it gets and we are not just talking temperatures. Normally we go into the city for something, forget its too crowded and too crazy. The end of july is normally when the heat starts to sizzle and beaches start to crowd. It was so hot, the heat index was 106. We wanted to be at the beach. Even though we have water parks in the poconos you cant beat the beach. The Cape May Department of tourism is calling 2016 a perfect storm to drive people to the shore, the heat and the heated political convention. Traffic was heavy coming in through philly. The Tourist Department made their Marketing Efforts to show that the jersey cape is the perfect spot. People are taking the long weekends and they are calling their bosses and trying to get days off to not have to go back to the city. Most here planned vacations and booked rentals months ago, hotels around Atlantic City have plenty of rooms for the last minute getaways. But businesses on the boardwalk say the extreme heat may drop beach goers but not necessarily customers. Hot on the beach but not necessarily on the boardwalk. The Tourism Department says the uptick in business over the past week is due to the heat but they are pushing a big digital and social Media Campaign to try to get delegates to extend their stay and perhaps visit the jersey shore after the convenience is over so we may see even a bigger crowd this weekend. Well, its cooler at the shore here in the city we are dealing with yet another day in this extended heat wave, well go back to meteorologist, adam joseph, outside of Wells Fargo Center in south philadelphia. Where adam you say its feeling hotter than yesterday although technically its not. The humidity has dropped since yesterday and we dont have as strong as a breeze as yesterday. Its stifling standing here kicking in a bit now, it kind of helps to dry you out so to speak. The numbers now its hot everywhere around the delaware valley. A little cooler there, with the sea breeze and storms that pass through. 83 at Cape May Point and 87 in millville and dover, and 92 philadelphia and 91 in reading and 91 in allentown and day six with temperatures of 90 or above. Talk about the july heat, we felt it this particular year. The hottest temperature twice over was 97 degrees we had three heat waves this month and 14 days of 90 or above where the average is typically 11 well add another at least one day this week to that total. Its active to the south once again and that boundary is draped south of pittsburgh and charleston, West Virginia, and roanoke and richmond with the eruption of downpours and thunderstorms, most of this is to the south with the exception of the shore and it will lift to the north here as we go into tomorrow afternoon into friday morning. Tonight its partly cloudy and warm and humid, 66 in allentown unreading, 76 in philadelphia and millville. As we track the heat tomorrow, you combine the temperature and humidity, youll see between noon and 2 00 we peak between 96 and 97 degrees and the human peaks tomorrow and that gets us into trouble with downpours and storms. You can see the eruption of the downpours and thunderstorms, it even be here where im standing tomorrow we could see up to 1 to 3 inches of rainfall, they are hit or miss and then more organized thursday night into friday morning. We have a risk for severe storms especially south of philadelphia and southern parts of delaware and the shore communities during the day tomorrow and the biggest threat is strong winds with the flooding downpours. Now halfway through we came back to see what is hatching so far. Last week kevins terminal bakery was gearing up for more sales with you it has been slow. 75 to 80 of a normal week. So down. Around the corner at dinics its been an okay but not stellar week. Its been a decent week better than your average mid summer week but not a 50,000 Person Convention kind of week. Now they prepare for a private event for millennials. And business has been way up. Not only the possibility of strong winds but flooding rainfall of 1 to 3 inches in a short amount of time. He spoke of immigration, people didnt think that immigration, young people like me didnt think that was such a big issue, what we see from what he says i feel like the young people can see that is an issue. No doubt about it. In addition to all the complications with the dnc brian and sharrie, we are watching a vehicle fire here on the pennsylvania expressway in the eastbound lanes east of the 202 in king of prussia and they have the right lane blocked right now because of the vehicle fire up ahead and the fire crews did get out here and extinguished the fire and everything is off to the side and they will pick up the cones and open the right lane shortly. Its jammed solid off 202 and 422 getting on the eastbound side of the schuylkill. You may want to use the pennsylvania turnpike but speeds there are in the 20s south gulph road could be an alternate. 95 southbound side this vehicle was facing sideways and at least now its straightened out and pushed to the side but southbound extra heavy from academy approaching this point at cotman and farther south you have the delays approaching the Police Check Point by the vine and delays in delco heading towards that check point by the platt bridge. And burlington bristol bridge going up in 10 minutes or so for a northbound ship head for the turnpike connecter instead. Well check it again in the 5 00 hour. Well take it matt thanks.
