One of the six Police Officers charged in the arrest of freddie gray has been found not guilty. Officer edward nero walked out of a courtroom a free man today. The 30yearold officer was acquitted on all four counts including Second Degree intentional assault in grays death last april. Heres how it played out in the courtroom today. Prosecutors had argued that nero arrested gray without probable cause and that he was negligent when he didnt buckle him into a seat belt. Gray was handcuffed and shackled but never buckled down. His neck was broken in the back of that police van. He died a week later. But neros attorneys argued that he didnt arrest gray in the first place and that the responsibility of buckling him in falls on the driver of that police van. The judge agreed and that ignited protests outside the courtroom. Freddie gray did not kill himself. He did not kill himself. Yet and though hes dead. Somebody needs to be held accountable. Officer nero is the second of six officers to stand trial in this case. This is the first verdict. Officer william porters trial ended in a hung jury. His new trial starts in june. The other four officers all await their days in court and they have all pleaded not guilty. Sharrie. All right, more to come out of that alicia. Getting word of a crash in west chester along 202. I dont know if were turning any corner officially but i certainly like the direction were heading in this week. Definitely warmer and we got out of the cool unsettled pattern we were stuck in. We had 2inches of rain on saturday mainly saturday night. Now just some scattered shower and thunderstorm activity. Storm tracker6 live double scan showing there is one isolated cell in southeastern Gloucester County but most of the activity has been west of philadelphia. This one cell with two Lightning Strikes has just now diving south of new hope. Continuing to push down to the south. Its crossing route 202 right now. It moved through pennington its heading towards newtown and we were beginning to see a little bit of a training effect moving along the border of montgomery and berks county and Chester County, boyertown,y you can see another cell is blowing up heading towards the pennsylvania turnpike and right over 322 right near honey brook we do have a pretty intense cluster of some thunderstorms, two Lightning Strikes. You can see its right here descending on 322. I wouldnt be surprised if this also has a little bit of small hail with it. We have more storms on the way tomorrow mainly east of philadelphia as we deal with this upper level low thats spinning just off the coast of virginia. Right now temperatures are cooling off a little bit. 74 degrees in philadelphia. Down from our high of 79. Allentown 75. Hit 80 earlier in allentown and lancaster. Currently a rain cooled 68 degrees but temperatures are seasonably warm. Now satellite6 along with action radar showing you can see this spin in the atmosphere. Thats that upper level low. Its called a cutoff low because its cut off from the main jet stream so theres nothing to kind of kick it out of here so it just plea anders and that will keep us unsettled tonight and really through the day tomorrow. So, tonight some scattered thunderstorms. Once the sun sets we lose the heating of the day. They taper off to some scattered showers. Temperatures really not cooling off much. 54 degrees in the cooler suburbs, 58 degrees for center city and future tracker showing that once we get through about 10 oclock, we will see some scattered light showers tonight and then tomorrow you can see how with this low shifting to the east thats where most of the activity shifts. 7 30 in the morning could have some showers along the coast and then heading into the afternoon lots of Sunshine West of philadelphia, east well see some scattered showers and thunderstorms and like tonight, any of the storms can contain lightning downpours, some small hail. Then things change as we head into wednesday, really through the Holiday Weekend. Weve got this classic High Pressure over bermuda. That bermuda high heat pump so that will bring us warm air with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. Wednesday into the weekend and also progressively more humid and with this ridge getting a little bit closer to us as we head through the weekend we will have the threat of some scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms but doesnt look to be a washout. So, the exclusive accuweather 7day forecast, kind of like tomorrow today. Clouds mixing with sun, some thunderstorms in the afternoon, mainly east of philadelphia, 79 degrees. Wednesday the pick of the week. It will be sunny, it will be warm but the humidity wont be that high. 85 degrees. Friday warm and muggy with some popup thunderstorms again, 88 degrees and heading through the Holiday Weekend, were looking at temperatures in the 80s.
