Minorities. I do not believe its morale for the mentally ill to be sleeping under a bridge. I was actually a donald trump supporter coming in, its an unpopular opinion and i and joyed john kasichs opinions. I faces a legal challenge getting on the ballot. A supporter sued saying kasich did not have enough signatures. John kasich will be on the ballot and april 26th. Are you coverage with that . Yes, im buying him a cheesesteak when he comes to philadelphia. We reached out to the other side to see if they would reduce their challenge or withdraw their challenge, since rubio is no longer a candidate. Pennsylvania is an important state for mr. Kasich if he is to have any chance wrestling away the gop nod from either mr. Trump or mr. Cruz at the convention. Live in villanova, john rawlins, channel 6 action news. Thank you. The next republican president ial debate has been canceled. It was set to take place after frontrunner said he was skipping the event saying quote, he had enough debates. Kasich said he would not debate without trump. And trump meantime picks up three states while democratic frontrunner won four and missouri is still too close to call on both sides of the race and voters in the tristate area, have a while to wait to cast their ballots. Primaries in delaware take place on april 26th and new jersey on june 7th. President obama nominated Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court to fill the seat of antonin scalia. Its the greatest gift i have ever received except and there is another caveat the birth of our daughters jessie and becky. The president called garland a bipartisan choice and called on the senate to call hearings and vote. Instead of tying the nomination to Election Year politics. To suggest that someone as qualified as respected as Merrick Garland does not even deserve a hearing or an up or down vote to join an institution of our Supreme Court when twothirds of americans believe otherwise, that would be unprecedented. I ask that they confirm Merrick Garland now to the Supreme Court. But today Senate Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell should not be filled until a new president is elected and garlands nomination will not be credited. Republicans say that in an Election Year the people should have a voice in filling the vacancy. Much to be seen here. But a special day for garland. Alicia thank you. Sitting at 71 and 73 in washington and 80s for southern and central parts of washington and virginia, and a bit cooler in buffalo just 58 degrees. We are tracking a brief front with showers and thunderstorms developing in the north and west of our area. Most of the activity is to the north but some of us especially philadelphia to its north will get a quick hitting downpour or thunderstorm. We had a rumble of thunder in the last 15 minutes in downtown reading and that moving south of fleet wood and crossing over route 100 as it moves over the northeast extension and anybody is fair game over the next few hours. Well talk about it staying mild in the day tomorrow and then a strong cold front comes through on friday and yes we are talking about the possibility of some spring snow on the first day of spring. Hi brian and sharrie, i mentioned the van fire on cotman avenue in the southbound lanes of 95, the van has been moved off to the side of the road and it was engulfed in flames during the 3 00 hour and police and firefighters are on the scene. We heard a rumble of thunder outside of our studio, double scan live showing what is going on a frontal boundary moving through and this stretches from our area up through new york state in through canada, the past 15 minutes, 200 Lightning Strikes in this view, that being said we are in the tail end of that. We have a couple of scattered storms that are not severe and its kind of a bad time and this shows the heavy rain is right over the schuylkill expressway by the conshohocken curve through king of prussia. One Lightning Strike moving eastnortheast and elkins park and fox chase and frankford all in the path of this little cell moving through and farther up to the north we have a pretty intense cell right over 202 heading towards doylestown and 611 and another cell that just moved to the east of 611 and this view has 35 Lightning Strikes, this shows that this system does have some dynamics with it. Part of the reason why, its warm out there and slightly humid, it feels like spring, 71 in philadelphia and richmond, virginia, 83, dont get used to these temperatures they will drop for the weekend, it stayed mild tomorrow and friday another cold front that could bring showers and behind the system the coastal storm i am talking about could bring spring snow,
