Police found her body in the trunk of a car outside a maple shade motel. They have a man in custody but police in two states are now trying to unravel the mystery of how this woman died. Sarah bloomquist is live in olney where investigators have been searching a home connected to this case. Sarah. Reporter police are still stationed out front. Sources he will this is where 41yearold jesus garcia lived with the 41yearold woman reported missing yesterday. Last night her body was found in the trunk of her car outside a south jersey hotel and thats where garcia was taken into custody. Jesus garcia is charged with the concealment of humans remains. Hes locked up in the Burlington County jail this afternoon. Last night investigators came here to this Quality Inn Hotel on route 38 in maple shade new jersey as part of an investigation into a missing 41yearold philadelphia woman who sources say lived with and is involved in a relationship with garcia. They found garcia at the hotel and in the trunk of this white sedan the body of the missing woman. Sources say she was in the beginning stages of decomposition. Police went door to door at the hotel looking for information. Well, they came to my door like a little bit before 2 oclock in the morning bang on my door and asking me where i was at and did i see anything during the day. Reporter the investigation took police back to olney and the row home where garcia lived with the woman on the 100 block of east wellens avenue. The crime scene unit was called to the scene and investigators again went door to door asking questions. All i know is that this morning the police were here and that all this fuss was going on. Reporter a source says neighbors have told police they heard fighting inside the house friday night into saturday. Then yesterday the womans family contacted authorities concerned for her safety. Police used an on star tracking system to track her white sedan to the hotel where her body was found. And at this hour garcia is being held on 150,000 bail. He is being called a person of interest in the womans death but again, at this point only charged with concealing the body. An autopsy is under way to determine how she died. A manager at locker room Storage Incorporated found the 69yearold dead inside a van yesterday afternoon. The van was at the facility on south 62nd street. Police say someone had brutally beaten him and tied him up. David henry has been talking to investigators all day. Hell have a live report coming up at 5 00. U. S. Embassies and consulates around the world are on high alert today because of a new report on torture. The report from the senate deals with u. S. Interrogation techniques in the wake of the september 11th attacks. One u. S. Official says the report is graphic and will be shocking to a lot of americans. It will reportedly show that some prisoners were sexually humiliated. It also details our cia interrogators continued to torture prisoners even after there was no more information to be gained. Secretary of state john kerry has asked the senate to delay releasing the report. Theres also concern that going public with the details will put american lives at risk. One group wants to reopen 100 year old landmark Germantown High School which was shut down in the spring of 13 because of district budget cuts. We will focus on Character Education implementing the classroom model and Restorative Justice as a way to teach our students how to handle conflict. Reporter 86 Charter Schools are operating in philadelphia, 62 and a half thousand students are attending. They get over 727 million in School District funding roughly one third of the districts budget. A total of seven are said to be shut down for reasons ranging from poor student performance to financial issues. One new applicant is gegor academy being pushed by a Catholic Priest and a philadelphia da. Youre eight times more likely to go to prison if youre a high school dropout. Approximately 50 percent of the Public High School students in philadelphia drop out. Even more tragic is that you are 20 times more likely to be a homicide victim in philadelphia if you are a high school dropout. Developing right now at least three people are dead after a plane crashed into a house in maryland this morning. It happened in gaithersburg which is a suburb of washington, d. C. Police say the three victims were all on board the private jet. Three other people who live in the house are still unaccounted for. The impact of the crash also damaged the homes on either side. The National Transportation safety board has sent a team to investigate. Take a look at the flames that were raging in los angeles early this morning. They were massive. This inferno ignited overnight at an apartment complex under construction just next to l. A. s main downtown freeway. The flames so high they could be seen for miles. The blaze gutted a construction site and forced the temporary closure of two major freeways. Now, the heat from the fire was so intense fire trucks were initially forced to keep away from the scene before firefighters could get close enough to battle the flames two adjacent highrise buildings started to catch fire as well. More than 250 firefighters worked to put it out. It took about 90 minutes to get it under control. Now, there was significant damage to both neighboring highrises but both buildings were saved. When you look at what this fire was doing last night youre talking about a blow torch of heat on two major highrises in the Downtown Los Angeles area that our firefighters were able to control, contain and knock down before they took off. Now, about one firefighters firefighter 100 firefighters are battling another fire that developed 2 miles away from the first one. Investigators arent commenting on whether those fires are connected but back to that first fire we had been showing you and so far no injuries, no cause has been determined though arson investigators are still on the scene right there. That will work its way from a south to north direction overnight tonight and throughout the day on tuesday we do have some rain other way. Check out these temperatures, though in advance of the storm system on the way. Its 33 in philadelphia, 23 in the poconos, 37 in sea isle city. 30 degrees in lancaster and 30 in trenton. Wind chills, however, are in the 20s. For the rest of tonight during the overnight hours these temperatures will be Holding Steady if not slowly rising and once they do, we do have that moisture in the form primarily of rain for most locations. Future tracker 6 showing you monday 4 oclock this afternoon you notice this area of low pressure just off the coast of the carolinas and that rain is starting to develop. As we get into the overnight hours around 2 oclock in the morning, you do notice some steady precipitation, some steady rain across areas in south jersey right through delaware and a wall of water can comes rushing in as we get into Tuesday Morning at 7 30 just in time unfortunately for the commute tomorrow morning so it will be slow going. This moisture will continue throughout the day and throughout the afternoon hours with the heaviest lifting off to our north and east once we get into about three, 3 30 tomorrow afternoon. As far as rainfall we are expecting with this coastal storm this noreaster on the way you can find anywhere from more than an inch there in philadelphia to close to 2inchs in Atlantic City and three plus inches there in the poconos because we not only have the rain on the way but coastal concern as well. A flood watch just issued right now for that 95 corridor, the immediate northwest suburbs and interior sections of south jersey, streets, stream and flooding that is a big concern not only do we have that but you even down the shore. Were calling for winds tomorrow gusting anywhere from 40 to 50 miles per hour, waivers as high as 10 to 15 feet, beach erosion is a big concern and moderate tidal flooding from south jersey to the delaware edges boo. The call from accuweather for the rest of tonight, well drop down to 30 in allentown, run in reading. Temperatures there are below freezing. A brief icing period before you change over to rain. Thats why the National Weather service issued a Winter Weather advisory. We drop down to 41 degrees in cap may. Your four day at 4 00 showing you it will be a wind driven soaking rain tomorrow, High Temperature just 41 degrees. On wednesday, it stays windy a high of 39, some snow showers are likely especially as the storm system pulls away, you get in moisture wrapping around on the backside. Right now the parents of Kaitlyn Richie are fighting a judges order to pay for their estranged daughters out of state tuition. Action news Investigative ReporterWendy Saltzman first broke this story and she has been in camden this afternoon watching the Court Proceedings as they unfold. Wendy. Reporter rick, it was interesting kaitlyn and her parents didnt speak directly in court today. They didnt even speak with each other in the hallways. In fact, they havent spoken to each other in almost two years and her parents were here in Camden County court today asking a judge to reconsider his decision requiring them to pay 16,000 for her out of state tuition across the bridge in temple. The court case of richie versus richie has gained National Attention and for the first time in court were hearing from the 21yearold new jersey girl who has sued her parents to force them to pay for her out of state tuition at Temple University. Can we get your response to this. We caught up with richie on her way in to court where her parents are fighting a judges order demanding they dole out about 16,000 a year for her school. Inside a judge aloud a video but no audio of the proceedings where richie says she does love her parents but feel they dont understand how important her education is to her. The judge denied the parents request to reconsider his prior order for them to pay up. But this battle isnt over yet. Kaitlyn has filed a motion to hold them in contempt of court after they refused to pay for temple. Kaitlyn has been estranged from her divorce parents for almost two years. Michael richie and maura say its because she refused to follow rules and voluntarily moved out. These procession are inside closed door where theyre trying to come to a Settlement Agreement to agree on who is going to pay for one. The judge came out with one offer. It was refused by both sides, by both kaitlyn and both parent. Meanwhile investigators in cobbs creek are asking for help finding a man who stabbed a worker during an attempted robbery. Cameras caught the suspect storming the Grocery Store on baltimore avenue back on november ate eighth. The 22yearold clerk told police the knife wielding man demand money and tried to get the register that employee was cut on the hand while keeping the robber at bay. The robber ran away without any money. The clerk wasnt seriously hurt. Police believe the man is responsible for robbing the same store back in october.
