A new report finally gives answers to what prevented lieutenant joyce craig to never make it out of a house fire alive. Action News Reporter Jeanette Reyes is live at Philadelphia Fire Department headquarters with details on this scathing report. Jeanette. Reporter well, matt, the odds william stocked against lieutenant joyce craig from the very beginning but this report ultimately confirms what led to her death. Something that the family and the fire union believed all along and that is that bad equipment ultimately led to her death. Joyce craig first made a call for help was at 3 02 a. M. Then another came less than a minute later. She couldnt breathe. She would never be rescued, though. In fact, a series of fateful mistakes made a rescue less likely. The 11 year veteran was found in the dining room of the burned out West Oak Lane home in december of 2014. Monday the Fire Department and if the National Institute for Occupational Safety and the health released a scathing report and these never before that seen photos. As for what went wrong, findings reveal the hose supplying her with oxygen was burned through during the blaze. 45 minutes worth of air disappeared in just 10 minutes.
