Thousands of people have taken to the streets upset over Police Killings 2069 black men. Another group marched through philadelphia this morning. Action News Reporter Annie Mccormack was right there. Reporter group is called showing up for Racial Justice, or search and this morning they took their protest from city hall out into the streets in the middle of morning rush hour. At times during the estimated hour long protest traffic came to a stand still, as members of the philly chapter of the surge, showing up, for Racial Justice hit the street. Their message is similar to protest across the country expressing outrage over recent deaths of two have africanamerican men by Law Enforcement and killing of the Six Police Officers killed by an africanamerican man, later set to be targeting white police officers. The leaders of the surge are predominantly white. There have been marches every single night and this has been led by black lives matter and or activist in the city and we wanted a charge to demonstrate that there are white people in the city who are also outraged, and that we think this is a racist system that where police are targeting people of color. Reporter today in between chants the group mark down market and back to city hall, they call on the Kenney Administration for a comprehensive response to police brutality. Protest stayed peaceful but morning traffic on market from 15th through 16th street, and on broad from vine to city hall saw vehicles at a stand still. Protest eventually ended inside city halls courtyard. It has a significant effect on traffic in center city during morning rush but when you weigh that against people having the opportunity to express their First Amendment rights, obviously that trumps traffic. Reporter organizers from surge say they will continue to reach out to mayor kenney and his administration. They plan to have similar protests in the future. Much like what we had last week. Friday could be pretty oppressive, each of these days a thunderstorm is possible. Ninetyone is fridays high. Then we will get into saturday partly sunny skies and hot one with a high of 93. I dont think humidity levels will be as high, it will be somewhat humid but probably not as oppressive on saturday.
