And Hillary Clinton will be in philadelphia tonight when the primary returns come in and Hillary Clinton is holding an event at the convention center. All the other candidates are campaigning out of state and donald trump will be in new york city and john kasich and ted cruz are both in indiana. And we are tracking the primary for the second congressional district. Chaka fattah is running for a 12th term. This incumbent faces a trial next month on bribery and racketeering charges. He is facing off against brian gordon. Lets switch to vernon odom live in overbrook park. You are at one of the busier locations this afternoon. Reporter good afternoon rick and sara, that is true rick. The Democratic Party says turnout is heavier than normal across the city here at midday. He was expecting no more than a 40 turnout city wide but earlier indications are its much higher than that. Its busier than normal at this overbrook library. Turnout is higher than usual. Voters from this section of town take the franchise very seriously. I vote every year, i always vote. Always vote. Its my right. You know, i dont have a voice if i dont vote right . Turnout is expected to be heavier than normal . That is good. Im hoping this country will be much better than it is now. Exercising my right to vote. The citys Democratic Party chairman says that the president s race always turns out larger turnout, and early reports appear to show that turnout today will be far higher than expected. The trend is early voting rather than late voting but if the turnout is the same way as it is now, its going to be heavy, hopefully we get about 50 . There are reports of scattered problems at local polling places. At wissahickon, voting booths were locked way and had to break the locks to get access to the machines. Voting starts three hours late and bustleton where there were two precincts, one judge did not show up because he was in the hospital. One judge was asked to do both precincts. So for the first time in years, the pennsylvania primary is playing a major role in the president ial primaries on the Democratic Party side and the side of the republicans. Its catered to the district you live in, its self explaintory, we get calls about this particular section called delegates to the national convention, youll see a persons name and then committed to and it lists a candidate for president. The delegates awarded to this candidate will be determined by the voters.
