Afoot and lighthearted i take to the open road. Healthy, free, the world before me, the long brown path before me leading wherever i choose. The east and the west are mine. The north and the south are mine. All seems beautiful to me. Weve got some brutal days on the horizon. The sweater going to be going downhill as we head through the week. First brutally cold and then a system with snow, ice and rain to start the weekend. But right now its not that bad. Storm tracker6 live. Right now its delightful. Talk about the good news. Right now we dried things out after a. M. Wet start to the day and even some of the clouds have been breaking and we are live sky6. Now this is good news if youre a skier you can see Spring Mountain getting that base and they should be able to make a lot of snow as we head through the week and temperatures really drop. We did get a brief warmup, though. Temperatures stuck in the 30s three days in a row, friday, saturday and sunday. Today 50 degrees with just 4 degrees above normal. Put in perspective, last december we didnt have one day stuck in the 30s and looks like we could have a couple days stuck in the 20s on thursday and friday. This is future tracker showing thursday morning wind chills Single Digits in most of our viewing area as low as 7 degrees below zero in the poconos. Going to be pretty brutal. Right now 46 degrees in philadelphia. Its dried out. Trenton 43. Cape may 43. Reading and allentown 40 degrees and satellite6 along with action radar showing again that system that brought us the rain this morning has moved out. Clouds are breaking. So tonight will be a moonlit night. It will be seasonably cold. Normal low for this time of the year 31 in philadelphia, well hit 32 allentown 26, wilmington 29 and cape may 33. Tomorrow we have two systems, low pressure down to the south, a cold front to our west so what this will do is bring us kind of a squeeze play. Lots of clouds, could get a snow shower in the poconos. I think most areas will be dry. It will cool down to 43 degrees. On wednesday, temperatures drop down to 42 degrees, ahead of this arctic front. This could bring us a few flurries late in the day but really the impact will be that it unleashes yes, jim, the polar vortex. Right now its west of the hudson bay. This is really a pool of very cold airport. It will move close to quebec as we head into thursday and what this will do is pull down temperatures only in the 20s and very strong winds. Wind gusts up to about 40 miles per hour. So thursday wind chill struggling to hit 10 degrees. Think about this weekend and add a few layers on thursday. So, the exclusive accuweather 7day forecast, tomorrow we start the day with sun, increasing clouds maybe a snow shower in the poconos. 43 degrees. Wednesday pretty quiet ahead of that arctic front, 42 degrees, mixture of sun and clouds. Have thursday highlighted thanks to the brutal wind chills, again only up to about 10 degrees, some flurries in the afternoon, 24. Friday the temperature drops top 23 but we do lose the wind. So wind chills generally in the teens not quite as bad as thursday and then friday night and saturday this is when im tracking our next storm system t like this mornings storm it will be heading to our west. The problem, though, is that the cold air will be deep and it will be stubborn to leave. So that means it starts as snow, changes over to ice before a gradual changeover to rain later in the day on saturday so we could have treacherous roads on saturday with that ice. Monday temps drop down to 34 degrees. Really my biggest concern first half of the day on saturday could be very icy. Thank you cecily.
