The path made a big jog to the east than is really good news, part of the reason why is this is an extremely strong hurricane, a cat four extremely dangerous hurricane, packing sustained winds at 135 Miles Per Hour and you can see how the eye wall is deepening and a storm like this, its hard for an upper level low to capture, im talking all week how this storm would have to be captured by an upper level low and pulled inland, when have you a strong storm like that, its like a boulder rolling downhill, and trying to change the path, its difficult to do, part of the reason why its moving to the southwest and it could miss the connection with the trough all together, you look at the spaghetti plots all over the place, we had most of them heading towards the carolinas and most of them are moving out to see, if they continues the mid atlantic will avoid a direct heat, not ready to sound the all clear there is still a 40 shot that it could hit the midatlantic and 10 of new england and 50 chance of it heading out to sea and i think that will improve through the night but the jersey shore is still taking a beating, with details on that lets head to adam joseph. Whether joaquin has a direct impact on our region or not, the preparations at the jersey shore is a good thing because High Pressure to the north and low pressure to the south with a stalled boundary to the south and east and in between the high and low we get a persistent northeasterly wind that is hammering the jersey shore and delaware beaches and that northeasterly wind is not going to change through the upcoming weekend and in addition to that you see heavy rain pushing in. And future tracker 6 through saturday morning, an inch to 2 inches of rain through much of the area, we may not see flooding rains inland but the shore is a competely different situation, the future wind gusts tomorrow at 3 00, 40s at the shore and 30s i95 and 20s north and west. And it continues at noon at 50 Miles Per Hour and that is a lot of wind that continues to push the ocean again the coastline, and we have coastal flood warnings in effect tonight and friday, saturday every time for our high tide with waves 8 to 12 feet, we are looking at moderate to major flooding at the shore and ocean side and bay side and the delaware bay and river, this is something we still have to watch even despite joaquin probably going out to sea, cecily tynan will have more details in the seven day. Governor Chris Christie has declared a state of money for new jersey and christie says the track of Hurricane Joaquin remains uncertain, we know that but he says the state is better prepared having gone through Hurricane Sandy three years ago. We are prepared and we need you to prepare and not panic. Worrying and stressing about it will not change the path of the storm. Well jim we have seen a lot of people securing their properties and getting out of town before the storm hits wrerk on the beach here in Atlantic City, look at the conditions behind me, Atlantic City officials met this afternoon to talk about how they are preparing for joaquin, they want residents to start stocking up on food and water and medication or start think being another place to take shelter. Atlantic city officials urge reads to prepare for the possibility of evacuation as head of Hurricane Joaquin saying they are still watching the forecast closely. People living in low lying areas, now is the time to call friends and family and try to prepare. At the Ocean City Fire Department firefighters spent the day tuning up five military vehicles three of them for evacuations and two equipped to fight fires, these vehicles secured just after Superstorm Sandy can drive through up to six feet of water. Sandy was deep waters here and hopefully these will be lot better. Tidal flooding brought water into ocean citys bay side even though this is minor it could be a sign of what is ahead. So Hurricane Joaquin this is an extremely dangerous, category four hurricane. Susteened winds at 135 Miles Per Hour, and it should make the turn to the right in the next 24 hours and this should push up to the northern and encounter wind shear and colder water and by the time its closer to us, it will be a category one hurricane and slowing down the track, this shows monday at 2 00 with 80 Miles Per Hour winds and this cone of uncertainty, it made a shift to the east and still includes the jersey shore so not letting down our guard but another update at 8 00 and another one at 11 00 and i hope the cone continues to shift to the east.
