Reporter 37yearold adam mayr an english teacher at the Gloucester County institute of technology is in jail charged with invading the privacy of nine of his students. Its alleged he was apparently using a camera in what is sometimes call upskirting. The defendant was secretly recording these individuals with a small video recording device that was being used unbeknownst to the students at the time. Reporter mayrs neighbor page where this photo is from says he graduated from Rowan University in 2001 and had been teaching at gcit since 2002. Prosecutor sean dalton says authorities were alerted something was wrong when a student felt uneasy about a meeting with mayr. Its my understanding a student at gcit based upon her contact with mr. Mayr felt that something was wrong and that she was being recorded. She told her parent. Thankfully. Reporter well, the allegations of the inappropriate recordings were made in the classroom between classes or shortly after class was over for the day at the school apparently it was when students would go in to ask for help or clarify something about the assignment or the day. It wasnt much of a fire but for these two men it was a very close call. Very frightening close call. I talked to both members and they said exactly the same thing. Reporter firefighters from ladder 14 had helped extinguish a small bedroom fire at this house on the 2400 block of west norris street. About a half hour later they started breaking down their equipment. Two of them had pulled this aluminum ladder away from the house. The top of it kept going into a power line. When it came in contact fortunately the ladder bounced back to the building. So just imagine if the ladder stayed in contact with the wires, we could have had a much graver situation. Reporter firefighters Robert Taylor and Eugene Colter goat a gelt from electricity a witness saw one of them go down. His arms just went from holding the ladder to drop down to the side of his body and he just passed right outism other firefighters quickly pulled both men away from the ladder. Between them they have 23 years of experience. Colter checked out okay at the hospital but taylor remains here in stable condition with third degree burns on his foot. His fiance parents have been here at his bedside. Commissioner sawyer says this is a reminder of the dangers firefighters face every day. No call is routine. We can see the remnants of the old viaduct rail line here but an expensive makeover is in the works.
