If the National Weather service lifted it a little bit early since it looks like the heaviest rain will be pulling out tomorrow morning. So, these are the changes since yesterday. Delaware, south jersey really the focus of the hardest hit rain. Some areas, same areas got the heavy rain last weekend unfortunately getting it again. That means south jersey and delaware, there likely will be some widespread flash flooding overnight. Were looking at rainfall there about two to 4 inches. Locally areas could get more than 4inches especially any areas that do get hit with a thunderstorm. So, timing it out, late tonight, the impact scale with that heavy rain will be high. By 10 oclock, it remains ocloe morning and 7 oclock tomorrow morning put once we get past about 7 oclock the rain will be exiting from the west to the east. By 10 oclock, were down to moderate. By 2 oclock in the afternoon the rain should be over, just some lingering clouds. Second half of the weekend though is looking beaikwe have o our weather pattern next week. Lets go over to the Action News Weather Center show you the scene at the Commodore Barry bridge and also show you our radar. The clouds are in place. Right now its not raining yet in philadelphia but we do have some rain breaking out in parts of south jersey and delaware. The heaviest right nowto the so. You can see some scattered showers beginning to develop in our do have a pocket of some heavy downpours just east of route one hea delaware river, east of middletown and farther to t we o have a steady rain and that is beginning to lift farther to the northeast. The tip of Cape May County is getting some raind that will coo moisten up as we head through the evening hours. Today, though, we did get to see some sunshine and that meant temperatur 80s. Philadelphia currently 83 degrees. Allentown and reading 84 degrees. Notice the areas with the thicker cloud cover and the showers quite cape may 77 and dover also 77. Satellite and radar showing the system im trackinactual ces over West Virginia and what this will do is trend a little bit farther to the south. So that really means the focus of the heaviest rain will be south of philadelphia. So, future tracker showing well have some pockets of heavy rain but really most of the activity happens when most of us are sleeping at 4 oclock in the morning some heavy rain especially i95 and areas down to the south then this is a new model run that shows that we have some lingering rain around 8 30 in the morning but generally as we head through the Morning Hours into the afternoon, we will begin to dry out and by 6 oclock, areas north and west of philadelphia actually will probably see some peeks of sunshine. So, future tracker showing the steadiest heaviest rain again will be to the south. Its going to be a very sharp gradient of how much rain. The poconos probably about a half inch but this latest model showing dover could get more than 5inches of rain. Unfortunately south jersey and delaware the same aaseavy rain t weekend. So, this is really where we do have the greatest risk of flash flooding. Roads and streets high risk. Low lying areas if they typically flood out south jersey and delaware, they probably will overnight. Also creeks and streams high, aty flooding over the major rivers. So, the five day at 5 00orng ra, then the clouds will be clearing out from the west to the east. It will be a cool day. It will be breezy 76 degrees the high. Sunday, though, High Pressure building in. Its going to be gorgeous, 82. Humidity, 87. Then we begin to heat things up. On tuesday 89 degrees. Friday night matt pelman a lot of folks try to get home get that weekend started but theres of course some road blocks. Absolutely. We wish the streets were free right now, free of accidents but theyre not whatsoever. Weve got some big ones like here on 95 southbound side right in the work zone, rick and monica, at nasty crash. It looks like theyre in the process of starting to clear it out but weve only had the left lane getting by for a little while so over an hour on that southbound travel time. It should be a quarter of that. But you start to jam just beyond cottman avenue and then its a slow crawl with a lot of single digit speeds on down to that accident scene by girard avenue. I would use the southbound boulevard, even frankford avenue as an alternate. That reopened today in fishtown. They finished the work on that water main break. Or you could use delaware avenue. Columbus boulevard though does have that southbound construction in Queen Village there. H out for. Lets zoom into this situation. Blue route 476 northbound at the schuylkill a crash takes out the right lane. Speeds like 10 Miles Per Hour coming north of broomall. I would think about using 320 or even 252 to get around that. And newtown bucks county still have a crash by the summit square shopping ce3 and in penna truck struck the railroad bridge along river road earlier today. So river road is blocked and njts rail line is not running ndtwherry hill. Youre on the buses instead. You can use patco to get over to pennsauken to pick up your shuttle buses. Speaking of patco the trains running over the ben franklin bridge theyre on time this afternoon but traffic on the bridge westbound is not running well. Its very jammed as you head towards center city. And the ben is closing sunday morning for the toreday shore so at that point use the betsy or the walt. Have a good weekend rick and monica. You too. No. The action cam taking a look along the banks of the Schuylkill River which was quiet earlier today although the clouds have been thickening and double scan live showing that, yes, we do have quite a bit of rain on the way and it will be falling in the overnight hours so i do want to stress this weekend is not going to be a complete washout. Dont write off the whole weekend. In fact, even tomorrow well be improving as we head through the day. Rain early, during the Morning Hours and then we gradually will be clearing out from the west to the east. It will be cool, it will be breezy, especially along the shore. 76 degrees but look at sunday. Sunday just gorgeous. Loads of sunshine, low humidity. Really picture perfect day with a high of 82 degrees. We just have to get through tonight with the rain. Double scan live showing were already beginning to see some light showers generally west pht steadier rain right over route one just to the east of middletown and Cape May Countyhe were seeing the heavier downpours beginning to break out, the southern tip of cape may we have that heavy downpour over the mouth of the delaware bay from llewes to cape may. The atmosphere will continue to moisten through the evening hours. Right now 83 degrees in philadelphia, the same in Trenton Allentown and reading seeing a good amount of sunshine 84. Cooler with areas seeing the mar 75. Satellite and radar showing the system im tracking its low pressure, its over West Virginia right now and its b fr to the south so what this means really the focus of the heaviest downpours will be south around 10 30 tonight we will have some pockets of some heavy downpours but really the bulk of it waits until the wee hours of the morning around 5 oclock some downpours across i95, southern delaware and then by 10 30 in the morning, still a few lingering showers but not looking at widespread heavy rain and then as we head through the afternoon we could have some showers lingering along the coast but by 6 oclock, i think areas north and west of philadelphia will actually see some peesunday is looking fanta.
