Time for sports and jaime apody is here and theres a big trade in the nba to talk about right on the heels of the allstar game yesterday. Yeah. And it actually has an effect on our sixers. Uhoh. Ill explain why. Thank you sacramento kings. Why am i thanking the kings you ask . Their blockbuster deal worked big time to the sixers benefit. Sacramento sent one of the best players in the league Demarcus Cousins do new orleans where hell team up with anthony davis. Pelicans spent Tyreke Evans Langston Galloway and two draft picks. Why should we be happy about the deal. Back in 2015 sam hinkie made a trade with the kings including rights to swap first round picks with sacramento. Without cousins the kings will likely tank the rest of the season so that pick could be in the top three. Sixers owned kings pick in 2019 so sacramento dismantling their team now sounds like that pick could be a real good one in two years as well. So, on the other hand new orleans was a potential landing spot for Jahlil Okafor before that deal reportedly fell through. If the sixers still plan to move okay for this season, they will have to do so before thursday at 3 00 p. M. That is when the nba trade deadline hits. Its coming up soon.
