As we look outside from chopper6 hd high over the schuylkill expressway, check out the traffic between roosevelt boulevard and montgomery drive moving just fine. No big complaints along the schuylkill expressway but then other spots where we dont normally have problems we have some issues this afternoon. Our next camera shot is 95 in bucks county. This is a broken down vehicle on the northbound side just north of street road taking out the right lane. So, little bit sluggish as you come north here through bucks county. And dont forget if youre trying exit the southbound side of 95 onto columbus boulevard, at the end of the ramp you have to go north on columbus boulevard. Southbound side is still blocked because of that water main break from tuesday. And around all of the area malls, its very busy. Like along route one in delco by marple crossroads, along Baltimore Pike by the springfield mall just 7 Miles Per Hour. Along more land road by the Willow Grove Park mall just 12 Miles Per Hour right now. We also have a crash in abington township along susquehanna road at valley road taking out one lane and by the king of prussia mall weve had a couple accidents. Police in philadelphia, bensalem and radnor are investigating at least a dozen incidents that date back to november 19th. Tonight they are asking for your help. Action News Reporter vernon odom is live at first watch restaurant in radnor, the scene of the most recent crime. Vern. Reporter good evening, sharrie. He is cagey and very experienced yet he operates in a very simple and direct manner. His last hit was, again, here in radnor as you said before when he strikes close stores around the area in the wee hours of the morning as he did here about 4 15 tuesday morning. Here is the smash and grab pro taking off his rampage november 19th on aramingo avenue in philadelphia operating overnight using a clawhammer police say to smash right through the front door to grab the cash and make his get away. He knows what hes doing in terms of breaking through the front entrance of those establishments as well as knowing what hes looking for when hes inside. Reporter hes used the same m o. Six times in philadelphia now getting away from the scene minutes before police on patrol get the alarm call and arrive at the scene. 12 times across our area without getting nabbed. Five times in bensalem bucks county and now once in a radnor township delaware county. Hes only in the stores a minimal amount of time. Reporter his strikes are lightning fast and the Surveillance Video is not that clear at the first watch restaurant in the lancaster avenue mall. But he seems to know right where the cash was being kept overnight. He did take a safe push it across the floor all the way out the front door and into the vehicle that was waiting in the parking lot. Reporter police are convinced it is the same perpetrator involved in this dirty dozen month long spree. They have been able to get clear video of his two known get away vehicles. Appears to be an older model mercedes four door sedan with sunroof and then i believe the other vehicle in philadelphia jobs was a town and country minivan. Little bit of rain to start Christmas Eve. Tonight just a lot of clouds. We are live on sky6 taking a look at the center city skyline. A lot of green and red now that we are firmly i guess Christmas Eve eve and its been clouding up through the day. Despite the cloud cover temperatures again slightly above normal. 43 degrees currently but we hit a high of 46 which is 3 degrees above normal. Yesterday 53. Not quite that warm. Allentown 39. Wilmington 42. Atlantic city 44. And trenton currently 43 degrees. Big change from yesterday. The winds. This time yesterday we had wind gusts near 30 Miles Per Hour. Now the winds have shifted. Theyre out of the southwest and theyre pretty light, either calm to about 8 Miles Per Hour and with the winds out of the south and the clouds thickening overnight its really not going to get that cold. Satellite6 along with action radar slowing we started the day with bright sunshine, bright blue skies. The clouds rolling in and thickening throughout the course of the afternoon and this is all ahead of a storm system that is going to be lifting to our north and west. So, what this will do is drive a cold front our way. There is some snow north of chicago. Thats that snow will be missing us to the north. This is mainly a rain event but as it rolls in, some areas could see a little bit of frozen precipitation in the wee hours of the morning. Tonight it clouds up. The rain will be here around dawn. 37 in philadelphia, 33 in reading, 38 in cape may. Allentown 32 degrees and really the focus is the far northwest suburbs. Future tracker showing around 3 oclock in the morning could get a little bit of some ice, some snow near the poconos, northern Lehigh Valley so thats why the National Weather service has issued a freezing rain advisory. I really dont think well see much freezing rain. Its not going to be widespread. Could be a few pockets. By 7 30 its rain really everywhere except for the poconos could have a little bit of snow just kind of trying to hold on and then this system is pretty quick. By lunchtime its clearing the northwest suburbs. Still some rain along the coast but that rain moves off the coast by 2 30 and that means for your Christmas Eve services partly cloudy, not too chilly at 6 oclock 42 and for midnight for santas arrival looking pretty good, partly cloudy and dry, 36 degrees. So, the five day at 5 00 showing tomorrow we start the day with rain. We end with some glimpses of sunshine so by the time hanukkah begins at sundown it should be dry, 48 degrees. Sunday you like today, youll like sunday, beautiful sunny and mild, 48. Monday a few showers as kwanzaa begins, 50. We bump it up to 55 on tuesday. A morning shower but then we trend cooler on wednesday, 42 and theres another storm on the way on thursday. Meteorologist Melissa Magee will talk about that in the sevenday forecast, guys. All right. Sharrie as predictable as the fact rick is getting coal for christmas this year is the fact two days before the holiday its going to be very busy around the area malls. Getting to our biggest area mall king of prussia is very complicated right now because of this crash. This is 202 southbound side as you come away from norristown and head down toward the mall. Here near king circle so thats by the Double Tree Hotel and the the red lobster up there. All southbound lanes are currently blocked because of this accident. If youre headed down to the mall dont counter on being able to get through along 202. 23 or church road would be some alternates and well keep you posted on twitter. Headed to the philadelphia premium outlets theres also a crash right now evergreen road right off of 422 and just plenty of volume around those malls. By marple crossroads in delco on route one, just 7 Miles Per Hour, by the springfield mall on Baltimore Pike just 8 Miles Per Hour. Jammed in all these locations by these shopping complexes. Luckily on the highways its not quite as bad. Speeds in the 30s right now on the schuylkill. But exiting 95 at columbus boulevard is still tough. Once you get off the ramp you have to get onto northbound columbus boulevard. Cant go southbound. Thats because of that water main break down around queen street from just a couple days ago. Elsewhere on 95 in bucks county, there was a disabled vehicle. Then there was a crash northbound past street road. Everything is off to the side but a little sluggish and headed to the Franklin Mills now philadelphia millions along woodhaven road a little sluggish there with speeds in the 40s. Head to the deptford mall just 9 Miles Per Hour but a crash on 42 has cleared out. Rick and sharrie have a great christmas. You, too. Merry christmas matt. Procrastinators packing into local malls trying to find the perfect gift evident by all the traffic matt just showed us. The action cam was at the king of prussia mall as shop ertz looked for those things. Experts say gift cards are still the number one gift. The king of prussia mall is opened until 11 00 tonight. There was even a line outside dibruno brothers where they were know doubt selling lots of those delicious gift baskets filled with all sorts of cheeses. Wow getting hungry. For one shop in italian market this is a bittersweet Holiday Season. After more than a hundred years its closing its doors. Dangelo brothers butcher on ninth street is going out of business because the Third Generation owner sunny dangelo is retiring. Dangelo brothers opened back in 1910 and along with cuts of more traditional meat the shop has specialized in exotic meats like rabbit antelope and reindeer. Sunny today. Shoppers are lucking out with todays weather. Of course if you are hoping for a white christmas, youre out of luck. Lets head over to meteorologist Melissa Magee with our first look at the accuweather forecast on this Christmas Eve eve tonight. Hi, melissa. Hi rick. Certainly not bad across the area. The high today in philadelphia 46 degrees. Right now still mild in at 43. Weve got some changes headed our way just in time for the Holiday Weekend. Heres storm tracker6 live double scan radar 3d. You can see the moisture with the snow across the northern plains, even some rain across the great lakes. This hm work its way eastward well after midnight tonight and for the start our weekend so future tracker six showing you by 7 30 in the morning, you notice the mixed precipitation well to the north and west of philadelphia but it is rain here along the i95 corridor and areas in south jersey and delaware. But the concern will be north and west overnight tonight. National Weather Service has issued a freezing rain advisory at 1 00 a. M. Until 9 00 a. M. This is mainly for northern bucks, lehigh, berks and up through the poconos. Ice is a concern, slippery travel as well before you get that changeover to rain early tomorrow morning. Those guys have a lot of pride went all value lot of pride in our jobs and what we do and every game is meaningful. Even though, you know, we might be out of the playoffs or whatever, division, this and that, but for us it was a chance to win a division game, number one, and, you know, it raised sort of that negative feeling that we had this last couple weeks. Dont want to get into the what ifs but the season might have been very different had lane johnson not be suspended for 10 games. Eagles lost eight of those 10 games. Last night he made a huge difference. Felt good to get back on the field with my guys and not being able to play the game you love and knowing that it was self inflicted was hard foil swallow and so its to two strikes and from now on i got to be more careful. Not having him obviously definitely hurt but him just coming back, you could awe could even tell just in the locker room just having everybody back, you know, it kind of had a good feeling especially in the oline room and i think we kind of took that, you know, and we kind of took that feeling into this game and we were able to play much more together and therefore we came out with a win.
