A big part of the parade is the wonderful performances that take over the parkway, including the National Cast of dirty dancing, they performed time of my life. The eagles cheerleaders partnered with the drum line to celebrate and swoop got in on the action. I love coming here with my husband. The soup kitchen served almost 100,000 meals through the escher street headquarterer, they serve up a full mean and deliver it to the clients differed to the table. Its like family. Coming home. We bring our kids out to enjoy with other people. Me and my kids we are having a ball. I like the turkey and the corn. And i like the sweet potatoes. The population we serve here is what we call now the working poor. Most of them about 25 are homeless. Thanksgiving at the soup kitchen reminds us there are so many that dont have a home or the means to make a thanksgiving dinner of their own. It means a lot for a lot of Homeless People that dont have nowhere to live. They can come here five days a week and get a hot meal. I am volunteering today because i really feel i have been blessed over the years, dont have a lot but blessed and a lot of people are less fortunate. People that come to the soup kitchen for a special thanksgiving dinner knowing they are welcome here and treated with respect. In trenton, im Nora Muchanic, channel 6 action news. Meanwhile, thousands of people across the Delaware Valley are enjoying thanksgiving dinner now because of the kindness and generosity of volunteers, this morning the Salvation Army provided 1,000 families with meals to go in philadelphia. More than 100 volunteers helped to prepare the meal so they were trod go for families in need. Over in wilmington the family Breakfast Mission hosted a meal as well. They spent hundreds of hours preparing the stuffing and mashed potatoes and of course the turkey. More than 1,000 people were able to enjoy a warm holiday meal together.
