There has been a break in the weekend murder of a philadelphia limo driver. Less than 48 hours after the shooting, police say they have now caught one of the suspects. Police are questioning a second suspect and out right now looking for a third then do know who theyre looking for. This was a brutal crime this young father trying to support his family killed for just the 30 he had in his pocket. Police say 20yearold alonzo dilligard of yeadon is the gunman who pulled the trigger shooting 26yearold mijael rodriguez in the back of the head killing him. Saturday evening around 7 oclock Police Responded to 54th and dell lanes in west philadelphia. On a report of a shooting. They found rodriguez dead behind the wheel of the chrysler 300 he drove for a living. His fiance had been riding at his side and witnessed the murder. Today Police Say Rodriguez had been dispatched to pick up three men. They told him first to drive to a home in yeadon then redirector him to 54th and delancey. Thats when police say dilligard drought weapon. He told the male if you dont give me everything you have im going to kill her. With that he instantly started going through this pockets. He pulled out everything he had, 30. He said i have nothing else. Please dont hurt her i have nothing else. Reporter as the three men exited the car police say dilligard fired the fatal shot and they fled. Last night family members told us rodriguez had only recently taken the job with the law for America Car Company to support his fiance the couples five month old baby girl. He was such a kind person. He didnt have any problems with nobody. Reporter now police say it didnt take them long to solve this crime because somebody who knew the the three young men saw them getting into the limo in north philadelphia and there was Surveillance Video to back up that williams account. Take a good look. Investigators spotted him using that debit card on Surveillance Video in multiple locations. The victim first reported the fraudulent activity last month. Doctors say the top diagnoses are viral bronchitis and the flu. Unlike the common cold, flu symptoms come on quickly. Whereas an influenza youll be feeling well in the morning and youll feel terrible at the end of the day. Those abrupt symptoms include fever, body aches sore throats and cough. Tamiflu can lessen the severity of symptoms if its given in the first 48 hours. Dr. Graham johnson of the springfield care center recommends this especially for people at high risk for complications, such as the very young very old president elect women and anyone with a compromised immune system. A bad flu season is expected because the predominant strain h3n2 is known to cause severe illness and because so far the vaccine only offers 31 percent protection against this strain. So, this sets the stage for a clipper that will bring us some light accumulations of snow tomorrow. Satellite6 along with action radar showing we have pretty much clear skies here. That low pressure is moving out of the plains states. Its a fast moving system. They typically dont contain a lot of moisture and this will roll down to the south during the day tomorrow and this will bring on light accumulating snow. The problem will be the timing. Most of the snow will be occurring in the new york in time for the morning commute. Future tracker showing 7 30 tomorrow Morning Light snow pushing in across the northwest suburbs it overspreads the region by about 9 oclock in the morning and then as we head into the afternoon it will gradually taper off by 4 oclock it will be completely out of here and this will set the stage for the coldest air mass of the season. Again, that start time between 6 oclock and 8 oclock tomorrow morning generally were looking at light accumulations, about one to 2inches but that would be the biggest snowfall so far this season for philadelphia. The problem with the cold conditions the roads untreated, the accumulations will start immediately so you do want to slow it down for your morning commute. Its starting to develop on Storm Tracker 6 live double scan 3d the snow showers and the clipper system were tracking still off to the west, Northern Plains diving south and eastward across the upper midwest. This will continue to work its way eastward overnight tonight and for the start of our day on tuesday with that we are tracking that light snowfall across the delaware and Lehigh Valleys so in anticipation of the moisture on the way National Weather service has issued a Winter Weather advisory for the immediate suburbs north and west of town for southern Chester Montgomery and bucks as we are calling for light snow down into philadelphia, south jersey and delaware. So, the start time of this advisory going into effect will be 5 00 a. M. Tomorrow morning lasting right through 4 oclock in the afternoon. The other part of the story is that the temperatures are quite chilly. Were at the freezing mark in philadelphia 32. 27 in allentown and 35 degrees in Sea Isle City and as you wake up tomorrow morning temperatures will easily be below the freezing mark so we are calling for that period of light snowfall. Tollefson is accused of scamming sports fans who bought travel packages under the assumption it was for charity. Well today tollefson turned down a last minute plea deal that would have kept the case out of court. Action News Reporter walter perez is live outside of the courthouse in doylestown with more on todays hearing. Walter. Reporter well, rick, it was an unusual day in court for sure. Tollefson faces a prospect of some very serious prison time if hes convicted. Under the dealing he would have gotten roughly seven months in prison, seven months in a rehab hospital and seven nos a halfway house. Instead, this case is going to trial. Former sportscaster Don Tollefson insists that his only crime is falling short of his goal of helping local charities especially those that support disadvantaged kids. As i look back at my life working with those children, i loved them, its a passion of mine and i will be able to describe at trial what happened. Reporter but prosecutors say tollefsons intentions were not so pure. They say he stole more than 300,000 by selling bogus sports themed trips. The proceeds of which were supposed to go to any number of charitable organizations but never did and the victims say they never got their tickets. Still, tollefsons Court Appointed attorney robert gold plan who serving only as an advisor says its all a misunderstanding. Theres no bad guys in this case. The facts are the facts. What this really is is a story of how you reach for the stars and and fell to the earth. Reporter now initially tollefson pleaded guilty but he withdrew that plea a few weeks ago and today serving as his own attorney he rejected a plea deal that would have amounted to less than two years of prison time. If convicted tollefson could be sentenced to as much as 20 years behind bars. The forecaster says hes confident. Just look forward to the opportunity as mr. Goldman said to tell my side of the story. All right walter, thank you. Philadelphia police are looking for two men who were involved in a brutal beating on a center city street late last month. Surveillance video was from 12th street near chestnut back on december 27. Authorities say the two suspects were walk wind gust a group when they exchanged words with another group of people. After both sides walked away the two suspects allegedly went back and start add fight. One of the victims was beaten so badly he suffered bleeding to his brain. If you recognize either suspect youre asked to contact philadelphia police. Federal corruption trial involving ironworkers local 41 union boss Joseph Dougherty is under way. Jury listened to Opening Statements today. Dougherty is accused of creating socalled goon squads to use strong arm tactics to force contractors to hire union workers. Authorities say some of the tactics included setting fire to equipment damaging construction sites and more. 11 other members of local 401 have already pleaded guilty. Jury selections under way in the murder trial of maple shade new jersey residents pedro hernandez. Hernandez is accused of kidnapping then killing six year old etan patz in 1979. The childs disappearances sparked a National Campaign to feature missing children on milk cartons. Hernandez confessed to the crime on videotape and his lawyers contends it was because of his mental illness. And from our delaware news room now this is a 24yearold mark partly cloudy. Detectives say he stole his grandmothers debit card to go on a shopping spree. Parker is also accused of taking several of her checks forging her signature then cashing them. Authorities say parker did feel badly afterwards about the crime. Enough to apologize to his grandmother on facebook. Hes now charged with forgery theft and conspiracy. Well, nine people including several children are out of their homes tonight because of a fast moving fire. This burned out shell right here is all thats left here on the 3000 block of north leads street in feltonville. Authorities say fire tour through the first and second floors. It took firefighters about 15 minutes to get things under control but thats all it took to destroy the inside. Fortunately no one was hurt. The cause under investigation tonight. Police in cherry hill, new jersey, are investigating two separate incidents where explosive devices were found inside a mailboxes. The incidents happened over the weekend with one of the devices actually going off in front of a home here on the 1200 block of sequoia drive. No one was hurt in either incident. So far police have not released information about possible suspects. Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter looked ahead to the new year by reflecting what was learned in 2014. The mayor hosted a rear end Public Safety wrapup at city hall.
