If you think your parents spent too much time looking over your shoulder when you were a child check out this father from tennessee. Action News Reporter erin ohearn is at the big board with more on the drone dad. Reporter all of a sudden i feel like a very relaxed parent, matt. Most of us have heard of helicopter parenting. Lets call this drone parenting, except were not being metaphorical. This tennessee father has literally become a hovering dad thanks to his love of technology and his adorable eightyearold daughter. Chris early is a self described tech junkie who owns a Production Company. Hes also father to katie who asked him to walk to school on her own a few weeks ago. Of course katie didnt want her father to watch her but lets say his creative parental instincts kicked in. He used the drone to take video of her on her way to school. Some may say hes being too protective but chris says its all in fun and of course a great way to make sure katie is safe. I was like, oh, wow. He didnt tell me then and so i was pretty david. It was just kind of a thing just to kind of keep an eye on just to make sure she was looking both ways, let her know that daddy is always watching. Early says he has the drones hes had the drone for about a month and plans on using it for commercial he produces for his Production Company but he just has to wait on the faa to approve new laws first. I wonder if you ask his daughter her opinion on whether the faa should approve drone use what do you think . I dont know. I think maybe at the very least stop the drone from following her into her school. Yes. She could be the kid who is always wondering in her dad is taking a look. Great dad. Thanks erin. Storm tracker six my kids are too old for that i guess. No major rain out there. Weve had a couple sprinkles up in the poconos. Its possible some of you up in the northern suburbs see a bit of something this morning but if you do, its very light raindrops on the windshield. As we take a look outside we have some sun expected to come up over the horizon and on the shore and then clouds will get thicker as our day marches on. 50 degrees a little bit cool to start out in philadelphia right now. Your winds northnorthwest only at 3 Miles Per Hour to begin. And as we roll through the day, starting out mainly dry. And then as i said the clouds get a little bit thicker. By 8 oclock theres that sprinkle or shower up to the north in the poconos mainly. Some could sweep through suburbs closer to philadelphia. After 2, 3 oclock well be on the lookout to the west for the development of more significant showers and perhaps some thunderstorms forming in this. The latest run on future tracker six certainly does suggest this in at least spots and the issue with these storms as they roll through maybe after about two and up until about 6 00 from west to east is gusty winds. Youll see lightning and downpours obviously but right ahead of these storms they could really shoot out a real quick wind gusts and that could put debris on roadways and bring down a couple tree branches, maybe some wires. That would be a possibility. After we get that main bands off the coast by about dinnertime the rest of the evening is mainly dry with just a couple of spotty showers. Todays threats, yeah, the storms would produce lightning and downpours but the big issue that were looking at is strong gusty winds that will really blow up in a hurry. As we mentioned at the top of the half hour it would be a good idea to secure your trash cans and other things that might be able to blow out into the roadways to make sure you still got it when you get home. 54 degrees by 8 00 a. M. , 64 by 11 00 the other part of todays stories is ahead of those storms were going get very mild.
