Meantime the river itself is running here. So this is where the concern is where the homes could slide. But were being told that they have to leave their home behind was heart breaking for these homeowners. I dont have word for that. I just dont. This is our home. We have put a lot of effort into it. I have put a lot of love in this house. When we walk away we could be walking away for good and losing everything. That is hard to take. Reporter were learning that the land behind these two homes has been collapsing for two years but without much of an explanation. Well this week the the odells spotted an abandoned storm sewer drain leaking underground. That drain was once maintained by burlington county, and that is likely the cause of what has been under mining the soil. Florence township administrators say the hill side is just not safe for these families to remain there any longer. The odells have had this home since 2004 and said they work their whole lives to be able to live along the Delaware River and make a house a home.
