Theres no lifeguards and the rip currents probably good idea to stay out of the water today. 68 degrees in philadelphia currently, 67 in wilmington, 65 in allentown, 66 in sea isle city. Comfortable out there. Looks like well still be in the 60s up to about 68 by 8 00 a. M. It looks warm this afternoon and nice but then more humid tomorrow. Ill have all of that coming up. Theres todays high, 81 degrees, karen. That will be coming up in the accuweather 7day forecast. That increase in humidity tomorrow. All right, david. Lets hit the roads right now and start your day. We have no big accidents out there. The story of the morning is construction, construction and more construction. So were looking live in southWest Philadelphia. This is i95 southbound right by the airport and you could see the flashing lights. We have construction blocking the right lane so you have to stay left as you come off of the girard point bridge. On the big picture, construction on the boulevard northbound between devereaux and red line, theyre doing paving there still causing restrictions in that area. Looking live in Delaware County the blue route at baltimore pike. Construction crews pretty much gone at this point so its not looking too bad yet as you head out the door on the blue route and construction blocking a lane here for at least another half an hour or so. This is in vineland Cumberland County on 55, a major high way to have a lane blocked between garden road and route 40. Speeds like 65 miles an hour, youre good to go right now. Thank you. We will hear reaction from a local Domestic Abuse counselor in our next half hour. President obama will address the nation tonight. Hell outline his plan to combat the serious threat posed by islamic militants in the middle east. Action News Reporter erin ohearn is live at the big board on more of what we can expect to hear tonight. Reporter tam, we have some breaking news. As the president prepares for his speech tonight secretary of state john kerry arrived a short time ago in an unannounced vis to it to iraq. Hes expected to have top level talks on a joint strategy to defeat isis. This comes ahead of the president s rare prime time address to lay out his strategy for battling isis. Not only has the public become increasing the worried about the threat posed by isis but tomorrow marks the 13 Year Anniversary of the 9 11 attacks. Obama has been criticized for having what many call a timid response thus far in dealing with isis and we have learned isis is now trying to recruit young women using social media and online videos. It is believed that as many as a dozen Young American women have tried to join islamic radicals in syria. And according to a white house official obamas speech tonight will focus on three major areas. The president will frame the threat posed by isis outline his strategy to address that threat and share new proposals on how to fight and destroy the militant group. It appears the president is ready to move forward with a more Aggressive Campaign of u. S. Airstrikes against isis, perhaps expanding them into syria without seeking congressional authorization. A scenario which is making some republicans very unhappy. Myself and most of my members is the president should be seeking congressional approval period for whatever he decides to do. Reporter and president obamas strategy also includes seeking a commitment from u. S. Allies to help defeat isis. Again, that speech is at 9 00 p. M. Tonight and you can see it right here on 6abc. Tam. Okay, thank you, erin. Closing arguments are set to begin in a School Kidnapping and assault trial. Christina regusters is the former day care worker accused of abducting a child from bryant elementary in West Philadelphia and specially sexually assaulting her. The defense is raising reasonable doubt of how she could assaulted a child with three other adults in the home. Prosecutors say she was the only one involved in the crime. Yesterday was mild. We didnt see a lot of sun. It was a lot of clouds out there. Thong we might start out kind of cloudy. There may be more sun in play and it will be warmer. As we look outside were looking at a fair amount of clouds overhead although nothing real low so it doesnt look like any big issues at the airport in terms of visibility, good for those of you planning to fly today. Temperature right now is 68 degrees in philadelphia, 57 is your dewpoint. Thats a fairly low number. Feels pretty good. Winds eastnortheast at 7 miles per hour. Not as breezy as it has been the last couple of days. Satellite shows you that while the center of our storm system is moving farther away from us, we still have some residual cloud cover filling in across much of the region. Delaware doesnt look like it has as much but we are expecting some breaks in those clouds as we go through the day and overall well wind up with kind of a partly sunny clouds and sun afternoon. 68 degrees by 8 oclock, still rather cool and then 73 by 11 oclock. 79 by 2 oclock. Your high today is 81. I expect that kind of late in the afternoon, maybe around 4 oclock. And as we take a look at highs across the region, yes the in allentown, 81 in reading, 79 in trenton and wilmington. Down the shore a little cooler but not much different with highs of 77 degrees. Of course down the shore we do have high risk of rip currents once again so stay out of the water. For the phillies tonight, they won last night trying to go up on the bucks two games to one. Seven hundred sixtyfirst pitch, 719th inning. Little milder than it was for the last couple days. Tomorrow it gets warmer and more humid through the day as we have a cold front coming from the west and you sales get that southerly flow ahead of a front that tends to moisten up the atmosphere. The other thing about tomorrow is that cold front looks fairly strong so as that front gets in here and we get into maybe the dinner hour or a little beyond, starting in the northern and western suburbs and then coming down toward philadelphia there is the chance of a line of fairly strong thunderstorms. Some of these could be pretty gusty so i would take cover from any storms that form tomorrow and looks like it might be a little while, maybe 11 30, midnight before they get down to the coast and get off the coast. Cecily tynan and adam joseph will have more on this for you tomorrow, especially during the nighttime and those late night shows, so if you have plans to be out and about, or your loved ones do, keep your eyes on action news because of that line of thunderstorms. Again, thats tomorrow night. Today no issues. Clouds mixing with sun, 81 a pretty pleasant warm afternoon. Tomorrow, warm and very humid, 88 is the high and again as you just saw the best chance of thunderstorms will be in the evening and they do look like they could in some cases be strong. And then less humid, nicer again on friday, 78. Saturday 73. Im posting afternoon showers but it doesnt look like a washout. These may be sorter of scattered but if you have afternoon plans on saturday or plans on saturday evening, maybe you keep your eye on radar and that Storm Tracker 6 app on your smartphone. Nice again on sunday, 74. Nice on monday and another spotty shower possible tuesday. Got you david. Thanks. Yeah. 5 40 now.
