Reporter well jim septa came out and handed us a release saying they mad progress in negotiations and both parties have decided to continue talk ing this the hopes of coming to some sort of agreement but as you know what is on the line is a strike and the possibility that 4700 workers could walk off the job. The clock is ticking as both septa and transcript porl workers have less than an hour to workout a deal. Sometimes it comes down to the fine hour but we are still at the table talking. Reporter 4700 bus drivers subway and trolley operators are hours away from possibly walking off the job. Unless a number of issues like healthcare costs and pension disparities can be addressed, a source tells action news the biggest Sticking Point is the union demand for a pension like managers receive instead of the current partial pension plan. No reason workers cannot stay on the job while negotiations continue. Reporter a strike inevitably shut down subways buses and trolley routes in the city crippling commutes of 400,000 people in the area and if its closed and not a done deal not clear if the union would not strike and 234 did not comment.
