Reporter and monica, growing up in camden is tough enough trying to lift yourself up from the pit of poverty. And now for some kids they have yet another battle to fight. Dealing with the culprit who is destroyed their football field and asking why. Lets go reporter meet the camden raiders. About 80 kids from the fair view section of camden, ages 5 to 14 trying to practice for games on saturday. Four teams having to do so on the sidelines of what was once their football field behind the Community Center. We came to practice on monday. Seen that someone came out with a truck and destroyed the field from field goal to field goal. Reporter the culprit cut wide loops leaving churned up grass and mud everywhere. In some places, deep pits that would make it hazardous for kids to play. I hope they see this and realize what they did. We are trying to do a good thing for the kids and keep them off of the street. Thats setting them back. So whoever did this, they should be ashamed of themselves. Reporter Police Say Surveillance cameras at the Community Center may have captured the vehicle and the person who did this. This was a despicable act of vandalism. Theres an active investigation going on. Reporter the team was scheduled to play at home on saturday, but have to travel to pemberton. Bus fare and pay referees instead of paying for it on our field this isnt free. Reporter the organization oftentimes pays for things out of their own pocket and provide this is muchneeded program to the kids for free. Philadelphia Police Looking for two men wanted for a Home Invasion in the lawn crest section. It happened at 7 45 in the 1300 block of hellerman street. The men entered through an open front door and threatened a husband and wife inside before getting away with a gun and 275. They left in a black jeep wrangler. The incident was captured on surveillance. The police do not know why the couple was targeted. A vision attack outside a Public Library in a community has police on high alert. The man was in the Library Parking lot and was severely beaten by two assailants and left there. We have more tonight. Reporter the search is on right now for two suspects police say brutally beat a man just outside of this library yesterday evening. For the mostly quiet city, news of what happened was met with shock and disbelief. Its really surprising. Stuff like that never happens around here. Like i said, i grew up around here. Really unusual. Reporter around 7 30 monday evening, a 31yearold man left the library and was waiting in the parking lot when Police Say Two men walked up and punched him, knocking him to the ground. A witness says the perpetrators continues to punch and kick the victim and ran off toward north academy street. None of the residents we spoke to were aware i am surprised. Yeah. Im surprised i did not hear about it. The university where i work, theyll send out bulletins. Reporter the victim was taken to the hospital with scag abrasions, lacerations and facial and head swelling. The cameras caught the entire incident.
