It is wednesday night, and the big story on action news tonight is strangulation in secane. It has been years since the last homicide in this Delaware County community. Action News Reporter, Christie Ileto, is live at the scene of the crime. Christie, what is the story there . Well jim, police were alerted when the womans coworkers reported she hadnt shown up for work. When they arrived they discovered the gruesome scene. There is blood throughout the apartment. Beaten and strangled the police discovered the naked body of a 36yearold woman in her shower at the apartments in secane. The detectives believe she knew her attacker. Everybody down there, total chaos. And not wanting her face on camera, but outside all day before the police swarmed the complex. You havent seen any activity in that house . No activity whatsoever here today. None whatsoever. I couldnt believe it. Still the violent homicide left residents rattled. Really surprised, it is a shocker. It is very quiet here, very peacef peaceful. When i am home in the evening we sit out all night, never experience anything like this. Residents say she recently moved here and lived alone. A man shot several times at 9 30 in the 1100 block of elm street. Paramedics rushed him to christiana hospital in very critical condition. The Police Searching for shell case and other things in the search of the gunman. Ordering everybody out at the same wilmington apartment complex where four people were killed by Carbon Monoxide last week. And the Law Enforcement officers said buildings were unsafe and told residents they need to find a new place to live. A 5yearold girl on the mend after struck by a car at 1th and ontario just before 7 00. Authorities say the girl is in stable condition. They are still investigating whether charges are warranted. He was more than a Good Samaritan this morning on the broad street subway. He was a lifesafer, plain and simple. The Good Samaritan, disabled veteran, on his way home from a doctors appointment when it happened. Thank god i was at the right spot at the right time. 56yearold Calvin Wilson says shortly after 9 00 this morning he was at the station on the broad street subway noticing a woman trying to stop her muchtaller and bigger husband from jumping off the platform onto the tracks. And she let out a scream help me, i need help, he is trying to kill himself. Wilson who served in desert storm noticed no one stepping in to help, and his military instinct kicked in. I was always trained when you run into a situation, count to 30. Yeah. After 30 second if nobody takes charge, you take charge. Wilson, who is equally tall and big, ran to the other side of the tracks to help . Thats when i grabbed him and took one good breath. I took one good breath and just say this is it and just threw my weight. Septa cameras saw him pushing the yellow button. Going to our radio room, a dispatcher immediately goes to the video and sees what is going on there. In this case, message immediately sent to rail operations which shuts down the trains. Shortly there after the septa Police Arrived taking over. And after that is over the man hugs the woman, priceless. And wilson coming from a strong Christian Family just glad he was able to help. I guess it wasnt his time to go and i was the angel there at the time, you know. So i flapped my wings and went over and saved him. Prosecutors say simminger stabbed 24yearold Colin Mcgovern to death in cold blood at 3 00 a. M. That stabbing death and other alleged incidents of violent or addreggressive homel people in the park prompted the meeting of the friends of Rittenhouse Square at the presbyterian church.
