Reporter chris, less than five hours after Philadelphia Police here launched a city wide manhunt homicide detectives swat teams hitting houses looking for the accused killer, he turned himself in and only cbs3 was right here at Police Headquarters to go face to face with the suspect as he surrendered. Reporter do you have anything to say . Accused killer darien person was urged to keep silent as he surrendered by family members who tried to shield him from our camera. 19yearold person is, caused of opening fire during a fight among dozens of High School Students monday afternoon, one bullet killing 15yearold aisha ramen an innocent victim walking home from Delaware ValleyCharter High School with her girlfriend. Two other bullets critically wounded a 19yearold man. One of the bullets traveled a half a block away and killed aisha, a sweet and very brightenth grader. Its no reason for a young 15yearold sister to go to school and never can come back home to her family. Its ridiculous. Community leaders rallied at the crime scene calling for an end to their violence. When bullets fly, the bullets dont have no names on them. Reporter homicide detectives say person had been recruited by two groups of battling teens to act as an enforcer at a fight they had planned. He was brought there is a muscle. He came with a gun and unfortunately he used it. I dont have anything to say. Reporter a woman identifying herself as persons mother had no comment but at aishas locker now a memorial, those who knew and loved her recalled a bright, beautiful young woman whose life was suddenly ripped away by violence. She was very well liked. She had a beautiful smile and when i would see her down the hall im really going to miss that smile of hers. Bail under state law can cannot be set so hell be held without bail and remanded to prison. As he stepped into Police Headquarters here tonight, investigators told me they, too, believe that this is a step toward justice for a murdered young woman. Well, also developing tonight the two men and one woman now charged in the attack on a samesex couple in Center City Say theyll turn themselves in tomorrow. Reporter and, chris, tonight each of the suspects faces two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of simple assault as well as other related charges. It was this Surveillance Video of some of the suspects that led to outrage and tips to police identifying who they are. On tuesday the District Attorneys Office announced three people, all from bucks county, will be charged. They include 24yearold Philip Williams of warminster, 26yearold Kevin Harrigan of what are continue ton and 24yearold katherine knot. Shes the daughter of Chalfont Police chief carl knot a group of people attacked them as they used antigay slurs. The attack happened on 16th street south of walnut. The beating left one man hospitalized with his jaw wired shut. Outrage on social media web sites led to the identities of the people in the video but police say it took some time to sort out which ones should be charged. Not everyone was involved in there situation. So, its one of those things of getting everyone in, questioning everyone, interviewing and talking to a number of different witnesses and anyone that was possibly there during this incident. Reporter an assistant coach for the Archbishop Wood High SchoolBasketball Team who resigned after being named a person of interest has not been charged in this case. The victims who dont want to be identified released a statement on tuesday saying thank you to the community for their help and support as well as the defendants who did a great job gathering details. We are thankful that the d. A. Is working so hard to make sure this doesnt happen again in philadelphia. And the suspect will not be charged with a hate crime because under pennsylvanias current hate crime law, it does not cover sexual orientation. And right now efforts are under way in harrisburg to try and change that because of this case. We are already seeing the high clouds lifting up from the south, jess today. Thats just a small part of this puzzle. Were watching an area of low pressure develop off the coast of the midatlantic, already bringing some very heavy rain there. As far as were concerned during the day tomorrow the clouds will increase. This area of low pressure will be riding up the eastern seaboard and by tomorrow evening, well be seeing the rain moving up from the south. Now, the heaviest rain is going to come around 7 00 a. M. Thursday morning right in time for that morning commute. Not just heavy rain but also very gusty winds. And as that storm pull asway, still some lingering showers and additional wind to contend with with our first real coastal storm of september and into the fall season. Rainfall amounts when we look at all of our computer models between one and 2inches of rain but its not just going to be the rain. Were also going to be talking about the wind. As Eyewitness News reporter diana rocco tells us hes behind bars tonight accused of having a sexual relationship with a high school student. Reporter phil barber first met this student when he was her eighth grade teacher. He was arrested at his glen mills home today and arraigned at the State Police Barracks. 38yearold bill barber teaches physical ed and coaches football and baseball at Garnet Valley middle school. Now hes charged with sexually assaulting a 15yearold student. Over the summer they connected and they were having conversations via twitter. The conversations became flirtatious and inappropriate at some point. Reporter in recent weeks barber exchanged twitter messages with the girl saying wow youre a very sexy young lady and your body makes me crazy. After the teen sent barber nude photos. He sent messages saying he wished she was older. Investigators say the incident happened nearly two weeks ago when the teen went to visit barber in his office after football practice and they had sex. Were disappointed and we are shocked. Were most concerned about the students that were involved. How does one curb this . How do you know. Reporter parent in the Garnet Valley district are struggling about the allegations about a well liked teacher of 12 years. Collins 13yearold son is in barbers class. He says it has been hard for students who looked up to him an community who rallied around barbers family struggling with a sick child. He has been placed on administrative leave while the Garnet ValleySchool District is bringing in counselors for students and staff. Across the region now, we have cooled down significantly. 56 in the poconos, 61 in philadelphia, 50 elsewhere, though, cooling down in millville and also in atlantic city. Right now its 50 degrees. Some visit to the west and some milder temperature to the south as clouds roll up with a coastal storm. That coastal storm will continue to move toward the north over the philadelphia area with some heavy rain. The low will track over south jersey and then move toward the north and east. And as it does, its going to bring some heavy rain. Now heres a look at the timing of this event, between 8 00 p. M. Tomorrow night through midnight the rain will arrive from the south in philadelphia and its northern western suburbs. Were talking about there heaviest rain overnight through the morning rush thursday through about 10 00 a. M. And winds gust to go 30 miles an hour. Thats even in the city. Then between about 10 00 a. M. Thursday through the afternoon, some lingering showers but still winds will be gusty as far as rain amounts are concerned, were talking about the highest amount around the coast. Thats where were expecting the heaviest rain and the strongest winds but move inland millville still 2inches of rain, an inch to 2inches along the i95 corridor. As you head farther away from the center of the storm through allentown reading berks county and the poconos lesser in the amount of accumulation. Down the shore the greatest impact, talking about 2 to 3 inches of rain wednesday night through thursday, poor drainage flooding, minor tidal flooding and winds gust to go 35 miles per hour. It will be comfortable overnight 56. During the day wednesday sun through high clouds. Clouds will thicken. Showers to the south. By the dinner hour in south jersey and delaware youll see showers but in philadelphia it will be during the evening. The High Temperature 75.
