You see this white car and you also see some bullet holes on the drivers side door. This is the vehicle that that victim was driving at the time. The man behehd the wheel was shot with during what were told was an attempted robbery. Lets take you up to sky 10 now high over the scene right after this happened. We noted police first got the call around 10 00 this morning. The man came to this community to pick autopsy female friend and as the two started to drive off, they were apparently approached by the armed suspect. Now we dont know what the bad guy was after, either his the car but words were exchanged and the suspect then opens fire and a bullet hits the driver of the car. That gunman then runs off. This is too close to home. This is right here on the corner. I stay right behind there. So i have family, i have kids. I have a high schooler who takes the buss walks to the bus stop right here. Very concerning for me. Im going to lock my door. Hope nototng else happens, man. Thats all you can do. Reporter so quite the concern in this community this afternoon. Multiple shots as you can tell by the markings on this car were fired during this incident. At this point police are still trying to catch up with that gunman. The victim we know is recovering at Broward Health hospital in ft. Lauderdale. But he is expected to be okay. The woman that he was with, she was not injured. During the height of all off this, two schools were placed on lockdown, royal palm Elementary Learning Center but that lockdown we understand has since then lifted. A car nearly crashing right into a home. Sky 10 was above this scene right at northeast 125th street andndecond avenue. This is north miami earlier today. Police say the car smashed right through the fence, ended up in the yd. Fire rescue crews had to free the trapped driver. The driver was then taken on to the hospital. We dont know that persons condition. A hazmat incident in downtown ft. Lauderdale. This is where fire rescue crews leak. You can actually see the crews blocking off the road at north river drive west. Rescue crews say the gas line was cut during some construction of a 45story building in that area. Wewe continue local 10 news safety alert a man who attempted to kidnap a 13yearold girl. That man is still on the loose today and police really need your help. Us exactly how she got away. Detectives with the Broward Sheriffs Office tell me that theyve received some good tips through the tip line and that theyre followingome decent leads but as of right now no arrests have been made and they really want to get this man off of the streets before he strikes again. He was really, really heavy car. Reporter a teenager left in fear following an ordeal no one her age should have to go through. I just trustedy instinct and ran away and screamed. Reporter she ran, not alizing her own strength. Surveillance video from a nearby complex captured the moment a 13yearold girl is seen running away from a wouldbe abductor. I dont want to go outside. I was scared. And now . I dont well, i dont like walking. Reporter you can see in the video she is looking back at detectives now believe it is an explorer while that man still tails here. It happened last week as the middle schooler was talking by the high school. The driver seen in the sketch stopped and asked the seen where she was going. She ignored him and he grabbed her. Her backpack filled with heavy books mig that behinderred the abductors aat the times from getting a grasp on the teen. Pulling away from each other and thats when, like, i guess he gave up and i just kept running and he ran back to his car. Reporter the girl ran to a relatives house in tears. She was panicked.
