Publishers clearinghouse tells us the check is a fake, the scam is real and it is sweeping across the country. The con artist will often ask you on to deposit the money ask then wire a portion back. That is a red flag. Under federal law banks mug the funds you deposit available quickly but just because you can withdraw the money quickly doesnt mean the check is good. By the time it bounces, the scammers got your cash and the bank may hold you responsible, twice. Winning is a complete surpri. We never let threat winner know in advance were on the way.
