If you go outside in cleveland right now, you probably think i have lost my mind. Like, what fog are you talking about . There is no fog. You got to go outside of the city limits in order to find it, especially in Lorain County. We have seen live pictures from lorain where there is some pretty dense fog in the area. Mile, quartermile in sandusky, same thing down in wooster, so its a lot of the same areas impacted by this yesterday. By 9 00 we should be seeing big improvements with our fog, but in the meantime please watch out for little ones at the bus stop. They get close to the curb, and when you cant see right, its tough for everybody to see each other. Please take it slow on that Early Morning drive. By lunchtime things look pretty good for us. When you think of clown you think of innocence and fun, but things are quickly changes. There was quite the commotion on the campus of Kent State University because of a clown overnight. Brian it started when someone thought they saw a person dressed as a clown running around on the campus there. Nichole vrsansky is getting answers this morning about what police now are sa. Nichole police say there are no signs there was a clown. They dont believe there was a threat to the campus, but were still working to talk about what was happening there. These creep kri clown stories circulating across the country. People on facebook are talking about clowns and clowns in the woods and now in northeast ohio. Three sixty graders were arrested for using clowns to threaten a few area schools, and at kent state overnight police didnt find evidence of clowns but it did cause quite a cell phone video. This is a student joining in what appears to be a clown hunt. You can see a few large groups of students headed towards a wooded area near tritowers dorm. This section is mainly dorms, and students were looking for clowns. Kent state spokesman Eric Mansfield tweeted out Kent State Police were responding to calls of rumor of a clown sighting on eventually they tweeted police found no evidence of anyone dressed as a clown nor has there been any evidence of a danger to the campus community. This is after three sixth graders were arrested for making threats of on a fake instagram account. One said clowns would visit a school yesterday. Others were mentioned in other schools. Youre pretty much driving through that. If you drive from cleveland to akron this morning, you probably will run into at least some patchy fog. I dont want you to think were all just shrouded you wake outside and cant see anything. Thats not the case. Theres patchy fog, but it is dense in some spots. Thats the problem. Were down to about a quartermile in elyria. This is very similar to yesterday. Same thing around wayne county, a quartermile visibility there. Three quarters of a mile in dover, but in cleveland no problems at all at least at the airport and downtown. We have perfect visibility. Through 7 00 i think youll be dealing with that fog out at the bus stop. I do expect it to erode by 9 00 or 10 00, so thats when we should see big improvements. When you go out for your latemorning meeting or coffee break or maybe take a long run and enjoy these nice, comfortable temperatures, i think youll have a lot of sunshine after 9 00 and all the way through the afternoon as highs today top out in the mid70s. For tonight quiet, clear weather not as wide sprez spread as this morning. Temperatures still run above average. 68 at 9 00, tonight 66 at 11 00 and the warmup only continuing through the day tomorrow. Lets look at high temperatures through the end of week. Notice how were in the mid to upper 70s every day through friday. Watch what happens this weekend. The numbers take a dive, and these are high temperatures. 66 on saturday. First off, make sure you slow down and use your flashers i those will help guide not only you but really help the others that are around you see where you are when you get in that really dense fog. Use your low beams, definitely not the high beams. Theyre too reflective, and use fog lights if you have them. Also, use the pavement lines to the left and right of your car to guide you. As for the maps right now, were still pretty clear. The 71 slowdown starts right along the jennings right past every single morning, so this morning count on that being the exact same. As for the drive times and also our akron map, they both look very, very clear for you. Everything is really driving well along as the morning continues. Meteorologist sam roberts has been watching this storm. Sam, its moving north right towards the u. S. Sndz it is, tia. First it has on to get over the island of hispaniola. It gets over the western side where haiti is located. That eye is approaching that southwestern corner of haiti. You can see the center of circulation, and its right there approaching land. So we will be closely watching this throughout the morning. Lifethreateningdi of course, matthew is still a category 4 hurricane moving towards the north. That makes it a major hurricane. Its moving very slowly, only 9 miles per hour, but the winds maximum sustained at 145 miles per hour. This is a very strong storm. Its almost inching close here to category 5 status, but we need about 10 more miles an hour in terms of stronger winds in now. Later today into the overnight hours, early tomorrow morning i expect the storm heres according to the cone from the National Hurricane center moving over the far eastern side of cuba. Its still a category 4, by the way. So no weakening over the next several hours. By tomorrow category 3 hurricane moving over the bahamas continuing to lift off towards the north and look at saturday morning. This east of daytona beach, florida, volusia county, big impacts here possible. Notice how wide the cone is in time. I mean, youve got portions of eastern and central virginia, the carolinas, georgia, much of the florida peninsula included in this. So a lot of folks are watching this storm, and look here. By friday morning, potentially just off the South Carolina coastline, category 2 storm may be impacts the outer banks. Want you to really focus on is we could see hurricane impacts in florida by late in the week with watches, Tropical Storm and hurricane watches possible in florida later today and maybe this weekend Tropical Storm or hurricane conditions in georgia, South Carolina, and north carolina. And you have to get on the pennsylvania turnpike, that is like the worst road ever, right . Youll Great Britain to drive through a lot of fog, so even if you travel towards pittsburgh, you have to watch out for the fog. North into detroit its everywhere, except for the lakeshore of ashtabula. Thats the only spot not under the dense fog advisory. Fog will lift by midmorning, giving way to a lot of sunshine. Then we get warm today, the next several days feel so good. But on the cool side, right . 49 in ashtabula, and thats like coat weather, i think. 47 in wooster, and a lot of 50s, though. We saw some patches of fog, but nothing that was really causing any kind of hindrance on your morning drive. I will give tips out to most of you driving through fog this morning. Here they are. First off, slow down. If you drive through fog, definitely want to slow down it will help the other cars around you be able to see you. Next up, use your low beams and not the high beams. High beams are too reflective, and use fog lights if you have them. Also, the pavement lines on each side of the car as you drive, use those as a guide if its too foggy in front of the window you look out of. If you look at the maps right now, we still are looking good. Keep in mind its 10 minutes while before the real height of the morning traffic is out there on the road. We have the slowdowns along 71.
