Women that we are told typically start in their 20s, using pills prescribed by a doctor and when pills get expensive switch to heroin and could not get off. Well i was pregnant and i would use, then i would just ball my eyes out. Because i felt so guilty. Reporter amanda started to drink at age 10. Pills. And then heroin. In my soul i wanted to stop. I just didnt know how. Reporter she said she did the dance of the addict getting clean and relapsing over and over. And then, getting pregnant with little valencia. A lot of people, you know, they dont understand why it is so hard for a mother to remain sober. They think because you have kids that it should be easiest thing you know, thats not the case. I guarantee you most mothers out there go to bed every night crying and regretting everything that they have done that day. Reporter she said she decided to get help because she had seen babies go through the torture withdrawal hours and days after being born. And did not want that for her little girl.
