One of the oldest professional sports trophies on earth made an appearance in Winter Springs and i stopped by to check it out on my way into special day, at the country club in seminole county, the top challenge, and, among the guests, two special treats. One of them, a person, one of them not. The person is damon green, a cadder for defending british open Champ Zach Johnson and the other guest, see for yourself. That is the clarett jug. One of the oldest trophies on earth. Given to the british open winner every year and the winnerss names are engraved on the side. The one you see here became active in the 1920s and replaced the original which was first given away in 1872. Now, after a golfer wins the british open they get to take around the clarett jug and take possession for a year and part of that is the winners caddy. Gets to take part in it. Dimon green gets to take it around for a while as the winning caddy. And today he brought it to the a guest in the tournament and it was a pretty special day there. Now, heres why i didnt get video for you of that. I got here five got there five minutes too late. And they left with the clarett jug. But a buddy had the photos and shared them with us and allowed us to use them today. One of the oldest trophies on earth. I know they love sports sorry. I have that was my reaction. It is fantastic.
