The American Cancer Society says most women should start screening for Breast Cancer every year beginning at age 45 and women 55 and older instead of a mammogram every year should have them once every two years but some doctors strongly disagree with these new guidelines. The most aggressive Breast Cancers coming women that are in their 40s and those are the ones we want to detect early so that they dont grow large or metastasize. 230,000 women are expected to be diagnosed with Breast Cancer this year, 40,000 are expected to die. If you are confused about these guidelines which a lot of women like we are, check with your doctor, the american cancer than 45 wants to get a mammogram they still can that their overall advice is to wait until later.
