Police eventually caught that suspect. A 24yearold woman was slashed by a complete stranger and chelsea. A cab driver was dropping off when he was attacked by a man that pulled a knife on him. In a letter to customers, tim cook said, quote in the wrong hands this software, which does not exist today, would have the potential to unlock any iphone in someones physical possession. And potentially it could unlock any smartphone at all. A final decision on this could impact cases here in new york late last year the manhattan d. A. I just spoke with the father of this restaurant owner, and he said this busboy has worked here for years, was always a pleasure to work with, showed up every day on time and is a family man and now, of course, hes been the victim of this most recent slashing. Last night. Were told that the victim, again, was slashed in the face, and the suspect apparently was between 1517 years old, came into the diner and was soliciting solicit for some type of basketball team. There was some sort of struggle. He left and came back to this door you see here and slashed this busboy in the face. He received 120 stitches, hes been treated and released from bellevue hospital. And the suspect is being described by police as a lightskinned black male or his passenger. He was wearing a grade hoodie, dark jeans, had a gym bag and was carrying a file folder with him. Its unclear if hes homeless, but police are still on the lookout for him. And this is the most recent incident in a rash of slashings. In january a 71yearold grandmother was sitting on the d train when a stranger slashed her on the left side of her face. Police eventually caught that suspect. And just a few weeks before that, a 24yearold woman was in chelsea. She was on her way to work when she was attacked. And just this week a cabby was dropping off a rider in harlem when he was attacked by a man who pulled out a knife and a onx student was also slashed on friday when she was walking on the street. Now, the nypd putting this in perspective for us saying there have been 471 standings and slashings stabbings and slashings through this time last sunday as compared to 395 last year, so there has been an uptick in this type of crime. I will also just say that at some point senator schumers credibilitying in talking about National Security issues particularly when the facts are as they are when it relates to Homeland Security have to be affected by the position hes taken on other issues.
