There is a wind advisory going up for the bay shaded counties including the burroughs area, long island as well as a good part of new jersey, mainly the central southern sections. Winds coming in from the south at 35 Miles Per Hour but gusting up to 50. Long island, time to titles things down. The garbage cans go flying with the winds pick up. This is one of those sort of days so take care of it before 49 degrees in central park, a few degrees in bridgeport and 59 degrees in poughkeepsie. Winds coming in out of the southeast at 5 to 13, 14 Miles Per Hour and thats generally what youre going to see picking up as time goes on clouds are already back again but the showers are not a problem just yet. They start to break out as we get into the morning commute and will really pick up later this afternoon and into this evening as the cold front gets closer to us but we got the warm front already writing to the north, High Pressure no longer in control. The same lowpressure that will force it all through. Scattered showers and maybe even a thunderstorm later on this afternoon, it looks like there is a possibility for that and temperatures continue to climb up to 64, a high and most of this rain coming through in the afternoon and into the evening and then it should slow down after that. Temperature wise, we make it up to 60 for a hike today and tomorrow looks like we catch a break at points but still a friday and saturday. The comptroller also criticized the mtas method for calculating the percentage of ontime subway trains saying that it produces better results than what actually exists. The mta has admitted delays are on the rise. However it released a statement saying in part that the comptrollers audit quote includes misunderstandings, misinterpretations and outright misrepresentations. Took a look at the future cast, it is bring us showers later in the day but by midday on, showers are really going on and it looks like its peeking around four to 6 00 and then it starts getting out of here but we will see scattered showers even as we head into the evening and by tomorrow morning , most of it already wrapped up. We do keep some instability around tomorrow. There is a chance you will see showers to the north and you will see there are snow chances as you head into upstate new york. It looks like perhaps rain mixed with snow coming through that area of low pressure, the future cast is making it look nasty so we will have to see what does materialize but it looks like there is a snow chance coming up with that low swing into the area as we head into saturday.
