Just across the street, literally right across the street, is the University Prep charter high school. Theres an Intermediate School with hundreds of kids. This neighborhood is very densely populated, one of the most densely populated in the city with many working families that also have small children. Kerry lisa, you mentioned in the piece all the syringes. Where are the people getting the needles from . Reporter this is the thing. Theres some debate about that. We know some of the drug users are able to get the needles through the free Needle Exchange programs that are operated by the new York State Health department. Those free Needle Exchange programs were set up to try and combat the spread of the h. I. V. Virus, but theres many locations where people can get free needles. Thats been a longstanding concern of the longtime neighborhood organizers here. Kerry lisa evers live in the bronx tonight, thank you. Drug dealers are using ebay, craigslist and amazon to sell synthetic marijuana, which is known as k2. Thats alarming. Its a city investigation, an alarming investigation by the city council, investigators say many of the dealers are selling k2 thats been sprayed with toxic chemicals that are banned in new york. Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady will be under center on opening night, a judge overruling his fourgame suspension in connection to the deflategate scandal. The ruling says Roger Goodell went too far with the punishment. An Attorney Says he was actually surprised by the judges decision. This surprises me. I think it surprises the entire legal community. Kentucky county Clerk Kim Davis wont be backing down. A federal judge sent her to jail today for refusing to issue samesex marriage licenses and defying a Supreme Court order. Davis says issuing those licenses would violate her religious beliefs. Demonstrators on both sides spoke out. I believe any belief should be respected like that. If anybody has a conviction over it, they shouldnt have to do it. It doesnt matter what people believe, what their faith is, what they think, this is the law. We have to follow the law. If you cant do your job, resign. Resign. Kerry the judge says davis can be released once she complies with the order. Her deputies have agreed to issue the licenses. I have signed the pledge. They became heros, preventing a tragedy and earning the highest civilian honor in france. Kerry beginning september 10th. You talked about moving forward. What is the nfl planning to do in terms of an appeal . Russ no surprise. Goodell said they would appeal. That was going to be expected had the judge ruled in favor of the nfl, brady would have appealed. This is something that was expected. And, you know, now youre talking about a situation that could take anywhere from six to to six months to a year. We could be talking about this a year from now. Kerry crazy. Lets talk about Roger Goodell. How will this affect his future as commissioner . Russ i dont think it did. I think people have to remember something here. Its not just about deflategate. Roger goodell is not the guy who beat his wife. He is not the guy who took a switch and beat his kid. Roger goodell is not the guy who deflated footballs. He handed out the penalties, but dont make him out to be the bad guy. Theres another issue. I read something just a little while ago in one of the reports that this proves that the nfls system of justice is not up to american standards. Well, you know what . I can say the flipside of that. Because, listen, the american standards, people want the american standards the nfl stronger. They wanted more of the nfl to discipline more of, lets say, ray rice than the regular Justice System did. So it goes back and forth. I think i dont think this is over yet. I think its ugly. I think the nfl wished it would go away. The football season is about to start. But they have to go ahead and appeal this. They cant just say its okay. You know what i think is wrong with the situation . Whether you or i agree, whether youre a jets fan or giants fan or patriots fan, the bottom line here is something was done wrong. Something was done wrong with the footballs and brady gets off scotfree right now. Whether you like it or not, that does not seem right to me. Its you know, it is football. It is the National Football league. The truth of the matter is whether anybody else likes it or not, it is it was agreed upon in the collective Bargaining Agreement that the commissioner is chief cook and bottle washer, and now that system might have to be addressed should the nfl appeal this and lose it. Then the nfl has to think about what are we doing with our system . You know what, kerry, the next collective Bargaining Agreement negotiation should be very interesting. Kerry very interesting.
