What does that mean for North Carolina. This is some of the impacts we could see even if that storm stays out at sea. These impacts are going to be much smaller, not as strong across North Carolina. We only have about a 20 chance of seeing Tropical Storm force winds around the triangle. That chance goes up if you are further south and east. Around samson, southern portions of cumberland county, about a 30 chance, not all that great but if you are around the wilmington area, you are looking at about a 40 chance or greater. Remember from the center of the storm, Tropical Storm force winds extend out about 160 miles. Let me sum this all up for you. We are looking at areas shaded in yellow, generally less than if you are shaded in red, this includes portions of wake county, raleigh and along the i 95 corridor. We are looking at 1 to 3 inches. I wouldnt be surprised if we are on the lower and with this current track. Winds are about 25 to 30 miles an hour. That will be wind gusts i believe. I dont think we will have sustained winds of that speed. This could continue into the day on saturday. Its not in the meantime in central North Carolina. We have cloudy skies and 68 degrees, 68 in clayton, 69 in fayetteville, clinton is the one area that is showing 70 degrees. We started in the 50s in many areas. We are now looking at 66 degrees in these areas. We are going to see more clouds today than anything else. I do think we will see some pics of sun here and there.
