The Colonial Pipeline officials have notified us this morning that the construction and positioning of the bypass pipeline in alabama is now complete. Colonial engineers are testing the pipeline today and upon successful completion will prepare for a safe restart of the main fuel line. Restart tomorrow but will take several days for the fuel Delivery Supply Chain to return to normal. Sounds like good news to most people. The worst areas hit by the gas shortage in the western part of the state and charlotte. What does this all mean for us today. First all non essential travel has been shut down to ensure First Responders have the fuel and supplies they need during the shortage. The Highway Patrol says a driver tried to pass a line of cars in this turning lane off of 401 north and ran off of the road. There are tracks out here in the concrete area in the middle of the road. The driver over corrected and hit the child waiting on the hospital and is expected to survive. We spoke with several neighbors all said they have expressed concerns to wake county schools about the location of this bus stop for a decade or more. It was just a matter of time.
