Give you an idea of the force of that water, you can see it brought down gates, grass, and dirt, the way that this is one of those areas that we were weve been monitoring closely. A dam that breached spring lakes mayor chris ratioing us the video of the dam at carver street state park saying the remaining trees that are there is whats keeping the rest of the dam in place. The Lower Little River crested thursday at just above 31 feet. Thats considered major flood stage. Its expected to remain above flood stage until saturday until sunday afternoon, i should say. So obvious when you see it up close and in person this morning. The road washed out. You see the pipe down here. You still see some of the water thats causing the problems down here below mixed in with some of that pavement. But you this is much different than yesterday because it was several feet higher. I want to show you some video from yes better look at how much its changed since then. Thompson road near bun lev was hit especially hard. The street was cut into two. Crews responded to an accident. A white pickup truck fell into the hole. The driver of the truck is in good condition, but the road could take time to repair. Ncdot officials estimate it could take about two weeks. Thompson road is expected to open in about a month. All this taking quite a bit of time. The transportation secretary will meet with the local dot see all of this in person himself. A bridge that connects the lake county and hoke county was taken over by flood waters early yesterday afternoon. That road is privately owned. Neighbors worked together creating a makeshift dam with tiers, stones, and a tarp to keep all that water at bay. However, after more than 12 still was worried about the dam breaking. Investigators confirm the remains of missing rowan county teenager eriak parsons have been found. This case made national november in 2011 but not reported missing until july of 2013 by her adoptive brother. The engineer, thomas gallagher, was injured in the accident but released from the hospital yesterday. The 48yearold had close to 20 years of experience as an engineer.
