Oh, i see the differenc this is one of our most usual creatures right now at the San Diego Zoo and our reptile house is drawing raves because it has two heads. Look at this. Thshe strangest thing i have ever seen. Its name is velma louise. [ laughter ] is a ma. H s a e. Right, o tongues d they use their tongues for smelling. Do you want to hold her . Is not poisonous, is it . No. They used their tongue for smelling and some people think well, thats dangerous. No, theyre just smelling. They use their teeth for capturing their prey. Right. And they do have nice, sharp, small teeth and they eat rottens. This one is called the corn snake. A corn snake . An corn snakes are called that because they are found in fields, theyre found in the east of the united states. They strong, arent they . Very strong. Snakes have up to 500 vertebrae, can you see the two heads there . Now, the right head is dominant. She is the one that eats most of the time. And this one is unusual because most birds have very skinny, slender beak because the [ laughter ] here, well feed them. They spear fish with them, but this one doesnt have a long dagger like beak. And its got a coat like because this one is found in the mountain regions of andes in colombia and ecuador. They are extremely rare because were losing a lot of h what would be the evolved from . Is it from the a family . No, they arent. They re actually closer related to horses and rhinos. This particular one, you can see the toes in the front have a hoof which allows it to run very quickly through very dense brush. Has a torpedo like body, and its name sandilla which in south american means watermelon. You still bottle feeding this, uh its six months old and its ready to be reintroduce and were giving it a hundred pound animal looklike aorpedorunning through, we want to keep it happy. [ lauger ] is this part of its food . They eat all type of vegetation lihors and rhinos. We have bana we have apple do you want some banana . This one is very calm d three at the zoo, extremely rare. From the andes. From the andes and were finding that some of the rarest animals you may only see in captivity so were trying to learn how to control their numbers. Whats the name . So, if they dont hang on, they are in serious trouble and they have speciands that they use like hooksfor gras just like a hook. They go arm over arm from one tree to another now, this is a monkey. Yeah. Ts monkey h a tail and it can grasp with the tail, where this one does not. I see. Okay. Both of them are this one is about 9 months and wouldnt be independent for at least a year. Shes still be riding with her female with her mother through the trees. Okay. In social groups. And the are their mother their surrogate mothers to hang. Hi moppet come here. Okay.
