A man was found stabbed to death in a park near the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. Tracie strahan has been gathering information on what happened. Reporter theres still a Significant Police presence here happened to officers from the 120th precinct block off the perimeter as the investigation into this continues. Well show you video of the investigation that started when the body was discovered just before 2 00 this morning. It was discovered by someone passing by on a park bench. We dont know the age, but they believe that person is believed to be in their 30s. Upon arrival, the victim had been stabbed several times in the torso according to he was declared dead at the scene. Weve seen many officers and detective going down the ramp near the Ferry Terminal where all of this happened with flashlights, combing this area for evidence that could lead to the killer. Hundreds of firefighters were called many to help contain it Lori Bordonaro is in sunnyside with the details. Firefighters still on the scene. Reporter indeed, michael, and the smell of smoke has they are still dousing a lot of the hot spots that have been flaring up all night inside this mill work factory. The building went up in flames just before sunset last night. Huge plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from the factory. More than 250 firefighters and emergency crews responded. Initially firefighters went inside, but several briefly became trapped. The chief issued a mayday ordering everyone out. Firefighters have since been fighting this fire from the outsideor the combustible materials, the paint thinners and wood inside caused this fire to spread quick eventually consuming the factory. They did a bangup job. They saved three large business. Unfortunately for the people working in that other business, that business was lost. Reporter four firefighters suffered minor injuries, but now the fire marshal will be out here and hell try to determine the cause of this fire. Back to you. Thank you. Police are hoping this new Surveillance Video will lead them to the men who committed a burglary in queens. These three cut a hole in a window to break into a grocery and supply store last month. It is under control, but firefighters are still spraying water on the hot spots that have been flaring up all night. The fire broke out in the empty millwork factory before sunset last night. Emergency workers responded. Several firefighters were trapped briefly inside the burning building. Four suffered minor injuries. They were ordered out and spent the night battling the fire from the outside. The intense flames fueled by wood and paint thinners that were inside and that consumed the factory. Firefighters were able to save three neighboring businesses. While the one people who work there, we feel their pain working, we were able to save the businesses of other people without injuries. The smell of smoke finally easing up here. The fire chief had been urging residents to close windows and doors as a precaution, and the cause of this fire is still under investigation.
