Crews are working through the night in manhattan to repair a retaining wall on the Henry Hudson Parkway. The workers in the northbound lanes near 125th street and it could slow you down this morning. We have Team Coverage to help you. Well check in with lauren in a moment. First, we want to go to today in new yorks Tracie Strahan who is at the scene where the repairs are taking place as we get into the rush hour traffic. Tracie . Reporter smooth sailing so far, michael. It was down to one lane open at one point. Now two lanes are open. Im going to step out of the way and show you the work going on at this hour. We dont see a lot of crews out on the roads. But you can see the trucks remain where the flashing lights are. Theyre blocking the lane right near the retaining wall. Now, this is work thats been going on throughout the overnight hours. Theyre assessing the Structural Integrity of the walls facade. Evening rush, it led to major headaches, traffic nearly a standstill at several points. The concern was that the wall was bulging and in danger of collapsing on to the roadway below. We dont know what possibly may have caused any of that. That led to a lot of traffic during the evening rush. While that happened, the traffic near west 125th street where theyre working on it now was backed up for miles because two lanes were shut down. Again, only one lane is shut down to traffic. As we bring you back live, you can see, michael, the traffic moving smoothly but its early in the morning rush. Well continue to bring you updates. We have reached out to the office of Emergency Management to see when they estimate that the crews will be done with this situation. Back to you. Tracie, thank you so much. We want to get to lauren with tips on how to avoid this area and potential tieups there. Like tracie said, things are a close ian the highway. The other side, the fdr drive, we have roadwork by 71st street in both directions. You can see them tapping on some brakes as they get through this area. Delays are not too bad. Theres also roadwork on the northbound lanes, but no delays there. You can head to the northbound fdr to avoid the west side highway. Right now, its okay. Lets head to the cross bronx expressway. Roadwork out there westbound. Those delays are a little bit worse because of lanes blocked. The left lane particularly by the bronx river parkway. More weather and traffic on the 4s. Clinton maintains still a lead in Democratic Party delegates overall. Police are looking for suspects who beat a teenager to death on coney island. Were told 17yearold warner died from her injuries after she was attacked by a group of teens. She was found outside her Apartment Building saturday night. Police believe she fell to the ground during the attack and hit her head. Family members say warner was assaulted by two boys and two girls and may have been its unbelievable. They kicked her in the head. They kicked her in her neck. They picked her up and threw her down on top of her head. Vicious, vicious, vicious attack. Police say an 18yearold has been arrested on assault and attempted murder charges in that case. More suspects are still on the loose. Massive morning rush hour for subway riders between manhattan and queens. The man who police say caused it all is seen in this photo before he was taken to the hospital yesterday. Investigators say he tried to take a cell phone from pay 13yearold boy on the m train and punched a Good Samaritan who tried to stop him. The man then jumped on to the tracks where he was clipped by an f train. New information on an acid attack in queens that left a woman with third degree burns on her face. It was part of a coverup and embezzlement scheme. Prosecutors have now charged two men and a woman with plot to go alexandria dyer in an effort to hide the theft of 75,000 from a Long Island City nonprofit. Dyer was hospital eyesnd and underwent multiple surgeries. Properties were damaged during superstorm sandy, they will soon go up for auction. We dont see any people on the but you still see the flashing lights getting traffic away from the lane near that retaining wall that they fear could collapse. Well show you video now of the around the clock repairs. An assessment thats been going on of this retaining wall. The fear is that the facade could collapse on to the roadway below. They first noticed this around 6 00 last night. As that happened, they shut down two lanes near the area. But now its down to one lane. This is the wall near amtrak trains. Service has not been affected so far. But the fear is it could impact the morning commute the same way it did in the evening commute. So far, darlene, things are moving smoothly. Taking one lane out on the northbound west side highway is a big problem as it gets more where the problem is and the delays were seeing. The west side highway is the way to go right now or the Henry Hudson Parkway further north. We have delays southbound because of roadwork out there. That should be wrapped up any minute. Heading over to queens on the long island expressway westbound after the Grand Central parkway, there is a disabled vehicle that blocks the right lane. Delays are building pretty quickly out there. No one in his close family he said was never accused of a crime. His father served seven years in prison for an accidental shooting similar to the crime liang was convicted of committing. The Police Commissioner wont stand for any bad behavior that has been seen at other trump events. As for the wisconsin primary, trump came in second to ted cruz who won 48 of the vote. The suspect behind a fatal carjacking in brooklyn is in custody awaiting arraignment right now. Joshua cologne stole a truck idling outside a business on monday. The owner chased after him. Cologne pushed him to the ground and ran him over. The man died from his injuries. In new jersey, investigators are trying to figure out what caused a driver to crash into a the black car hit a parked car in clifton before slamming into the wall of a shoe repair shop. Officers want to find the woman you see here in this surveillance photo. They say she sent a young boy to steal a stroller from a porch in corona. Cameras spotted her just after 7 00 sunday night at the home near 25th avenue and 97th street. Happening today, uber drivers and executives are expected to fill the Newark City Council meeting to fight a ordinance. It will require every driver to pay 1500 annually to continue to work. This comes after they claim uber drivers were violating taxi cab ordinances at newark airport, the train station and in the city. Governor Chris Christie supports spending 10 million to remove lead from contaminated he had come under fire for diverting that money to the states general budget fund. Yesterday, christie reversed course. He admitted lead paint poses a serious danger in the states older homes.
