Officer van dyke is the first uniformed officer in chicago in more than 30 years to face murder charges for his decision to shoot and kill 17yearold Laquan Mcdonald last november. The video shows mcdonald approaching Police Officers holding a knife but van dyke was the only officer on the scene that fired his weapon, and he did so 16 times, striking the teenager every time.
