We had some problems yesterday and we continued to see them out there this morning. Theres the wet streets of concord where its 33 degrees, but some spots, theres been a little bit of ice involved as well. Now, you can see a lot of places are higher than 32, but theres been snow, freezing rain and light rain falling at times overnight so keep that in mind if youre going to be out there this morning. Its very scattered and not a lot on Doppler Radar. You can see how spotty it is, and theres more to our well widen the view in texas. Thats arriving tomorrow, well talk more in a moment and right now, high temperatures, mid to upper 30s for today with some heavier rain on the way. The details and the time line coming up. Amy it was a tough drive home for some last night. Police say they responded to numerous accidents, mostly on i93 between exits 18 and 19. In canterbury, the highway has shut down more than an hour. Some freezing rain and snow went cars sliding on interstate 89. Wmurs jean mackin was out on the roads and tells us about the conditions. Jean nothing, but break lights for the northbound canterbury and same for the south side with several accidents. This car towed from the highway. Rain, snow and freezing mark, led to a halt. To get out and talk to drivers. I got a text from my wife, where are you . I said im on 93. She said turn around. I said im already in it. Theyve shut it down. Several problems were reported on 89. State police were busy handling one accident after the next. Road crews headed out to treat the icy stretches of interstate that surprised some drivers. Yeah, and i want to go home. I thought they were fine, but some people dont understand the driving conditions in new england. And state police do caution drivers to use those Winter Driving skills. A woman is recovering after being struck by a jeep in hudson, this happened near webster and sunland drive. The woman was taken to the hospital, drug, alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, according to the police. Following a drug bust in portsmouth, police said 31yearold everton sterling was arrested at a local hotel. Police seized a quality of marijuana and cocaine as evidence. The cocaine had a street value of 16,000. The group open democracy is calling fall after a rare move nixed a bill calling for a constitutional amendment on the house voted 156152 to pass senate bill 136 this week. The vote would have made New Hampshire the 17th state and the first with republican majorities to officially take a stand against Citizens United and Unlimited Campaign spending. That vote, however, was quickly reversed through a reconsideration vote. We won the vote and then there was a motion for reconsideration and the machines broke and in those 20 minutes, a whole lot of representatives mysteriously switched their votes and weve spoken to representatives who said that leadership put pressure on them to switch their votes votes. Amy open democracy is investigating why the legislatures website doesnt include the original roll call vote. The public is not able to see which switched their votes. Now, to a heart warming story out of new boston this morning, a disabled veteran living with cancer was stuck at home in bed until his Community Came together to help give him part of his life back. Shelley walcott has the story. They were hard at work in new boston, volunteers motivated by a man they say inspires them. Hes an amazing person with what hes facing. His spirit just inspires you to want to help people. He was battling cancer. On my birthday i was released from the hospital on november 13th and found i was paralyzed. Has been found inside his home. When dan mcdonald heard about craigs inability to get around. He mobilized on his behalf. Not only did you need a motorized wheelchair, he hasnt been out of house since november and couldnt get around the house. Members of the new Boston Community church bought craigs wheelchair and they donated lumber for the ramp. And then we had a team of people, including people from the boston fire, team rubicon and other members here today to help build it. Yeah applause . Sean craig is outside enjoying this for the first time in weeks. Now im outside, i could possibly take the dog for a walk again. Im so grateful they came together to help us. Means a lot to us. A Philadelphia Police officer is recovering after being ambushed by a man who told investigators he attacked the officer in the name of isis. 30yearold Edward Archer allegedly ambushed Jesse Hartnett who was shot three times in the arm. Officials say that hartnett was sitting at an intersection when archer opened fire. Police arrested archer and had a stolen gun. Theyre urging officers to be extra vigilant. The worlds most notorious drug lord is back in custody for a third time. El chapo el chapo is now back in custody after three months on the run. Mexican authorities hasnt be back to the United States. Five people were dead in the raid. Just last year, a cousin and another were related to smuggling and theyll both spend 16 years behind bars. Good saturday morning, we start off today with temperatures either side of 32, so, if youre on the lower side of it, you could have some freezing conditions to deal with out there and even if youre just above 32, you could have some slick roadways in some spots because weve had mixed wintery showers out there at times during the overnight hours. All right, here is a look at our Spotter Network temperatures. More of the same. As you can see, southeastern New Hampshire, even where from 32 to 33 degrees. Southwestern parts of the state mark or a little below it. Some areas in New Hampshire seeing a little bit of fresh snow this morning after last night and early this morning as well. And right around 32 or a little below in the lakes region, central New Hampshire and up into northern New Hampshire and upper 20s to lower 30s. Visibility is limited in some locations as you can see, not so much in northern New Hampshire, but in some of the southern New Hampshire locations, youve got a little bit of limited visibility so keep that in mind. Here is a look at the Doppler Radar. Not everything showing up, its a low level precipitation, so, weve seen some of that skirting under the radar, but you still can tell how theres light spotty, either drizzle, freezing drizzle or snow out there. The good old classic wintery mix and theres more to go off to our west and southwest off and on through the day today as temperatures warm above 32 into the mid and upper 30s today. Over to freezing rain, over to again light rain or drizzle. Next up, its this big system here in the south and thats heading toward us, as it makes a beeline, it draws in atlantic moisture and it wrings out a lot of moisture from the atmosphere during the day tomorrow. So you will see there that the temperatures are going to come along with it, milder temperatures in southeastern New Hampshire the u. S. , rather, and those mild interprets temperatures get dragged up. Today, light, showers, it could be any mix, temperatures above 32 just about everywhere and that means light drizzle, maybe some mountaintop snow. Tonight, spotty showers, fog, drizzle, light rain turns to moderate and heavy showers, it brings along a lot of wind as well. Conditions and snow showers will continue to be a possibility. All right, a look at the forecast for today and tonight, as you can see, temperatures tonight, down to just about 32 or more, and then well see them rise up tomorrow, near record warmth tomorrow, but also, heavy rain and a lot of wind. Not the best day tomorrow. I gets it wont be tough travelling in terms of slick roadways, there could be ponding, could be up to an inch of rainfall and a colder week ahead as well. Well start with two cups of dried milk powder. I didnt know that exited until now. It does. We have three quarters of a cup you can use regular, i choose extra fine. Extra fine is my middle name, right . You are fine, sean. Sean nondairy creamer. And half a cup of unsweetened cocoa. Sean youre going to set that back up there. I am. Hopefully i can get this thing on. Pulse it for about a minute. Sean that goes right together. Look at that, ok. Yes. And youll keep doing that for about a minute and then youre going to just store it in an Airtight Container until youre ready to use it. Sean serve it up. Allison robertson was on the way to visit family in pembroke when her car broke down and she got out to find help. This morning, a boston Police Officer is recovering after being shot. And a tool that became standard issue for Boston Police just a few months ago may have saved that officers life. The plain clothes officer was morning and used a department issued tourniquet to help stop the bleeding. The officer was seriously injured, but is expected to make a full recovery. Bail will remain at 10,000 cash for the mother from rochester charged in connection to her jazz jasmine rood is one of three in connection with the death. And the Attorneys Office may file charges against her as well. And shes an increased flight risk, and there are federal charges. A family in mourning after the body of an 87yearold woman was discovered on bear pond road in warner. Police say that Allison Robinson was stranded wednesday after her car hit a rock. She left her car to look for help, but never returned. An autopsy concluded she died she was found frozen in the snow. Robertsons granddaughter says her death is something shell have a hard time getting over. Robertson was on her way to visit her daughter in pembroke. As you can see, different colors showing up on the color coded radar, rain, freezing rain, and snow in some locations. Some areas you may actually be waking up to a dusting to an inch of snow out there. Theres more to the west and south and well pull in and widen the view so you can see theres more to go here. Off and on, really, at any time today, you could see some light precipitation, so its not going to be the best of days, however, depends on what you consider the best of days, because tomorrow, we have another weather system moving in and it brings a couple of big changes. Number one, a lot of rain with the system as it pulls up toward us. Yes, it moves from the southern part of the usa down towards texas and into missouri, all the way up to us, today, tonight, it moves in around mid to late morning, depending where you are, some warmth with it. Out in front, its the counter clockwise flow and you bring it temperatures tomorrow will be warm this time of year. Upper 40s and lower 50s despite the rain that will be falling. Futurecast, keep in mind, its such light precipitation, it doesnt show up that well on futurecast on the models here, expect that, really, at any time today. It pulls out of here tomorrow night into monday morning and monday noticeably colder and a chance for snow flurries. The woman was taken to the hospital for serious and nonlife and a new york man is facing multiple felony charges following a drug bust in portsmouth. Police say 41yearold everton sterling was arrested at a local hotel. Police seized marijuana and cocaine as evidence. The cocaine had a street value of 16,000. The group open democracy after a rare move nixed a bill calling for a constitutional amendment and campaign spending. The house voted to pass 136 this week. The vote would have made New Hampshire the 17th state and the first with republican majorities to officially take a stand against Citizens United and Unlimited Campaign spending. As you can see, theres plenty more of this disturbed weather to go. So, expect it at any time through the day today. And cloudy conditions and temperatures in the 30sment tomorrow, its a big change as this storm system makes its way on up toward us and it takes all of this warm weather thats in front of it and just kind of plows it up here along with it. That means that temperatures will rise dramatically, no question as the warm front moves through the region, windy conditions and rainy conditions, particularly for the mid day and afternoon hours when its at its worse.
