The dnc announced theyll restore senator Bernie Sanders campaign access to voter files. Earlier this week, Party Officials say there was a data base breach. Each campaign can add other information that other campaigns arent supposed to see, but the dnc says the staffers viewed and downloaded information from Hillary Clintons data. In response, the Sanders Campaign fired its top data staffer, but the dnc temporarily suspended Sanders Campaign from the date a base. They filed a lawsuit accusing them of trying to undermine his run for the white house. Because an understaffer made that misjudgment. Debby Wasserman Schultz says theyre restoring the access to the files and theyll continue to investigate to make sure that the data inappropriately gathered was deleted. And looking forward to the debate. Something ecoed. The voters are interested in hearing how they can afford health care, child care and i hope thats what the debate is about. Amy the campaign issued a statement, saying we are extremely pleased that the dnc has reversed its decision, the same information we already sent them visa email on thursday. Meanwhile, we are just hours away from tonights debate. College. Weve got time lapse video, there it is, of the set being put together. The inside of the debate hall is a hive of activity as theyre assembled for the last democratic debate of the year and the only one in New Hampshire. Of course, st. Hillary clinton, Bernie Sanders, Martin Omalley will be in the spotlight talking about the big issues on voters minds here at its decked out for the demdebate. I think its cool that theyre hosting these people here. Im a communication major, its interesting for me especially seeing the behind of the scenes stuff and all the famous people coming through here, so our live coverage begins after College Football with a special edition. Its 30 degrees, not all that cold, we could have temperatures in the teens this time of the year, but whats happening is cold air is coming down out of the westnorthwest and triggering lake effect snow showers and snow showers when the cold air meets up with the mountains. You can make out lake effect snow from lake ontario, making there in the monadnock region. There will be some on and off snow showers and temperatures noticeably colder. Its 3 1 1 in concord and well probably go up, five, six, seven degrees. The thing is the winds are going to be kicking up and thats going to make it feel much colder as youre getting out and doing your last minute shopping. Amy moving now to an arson arrest out of farmington, they say 33yearold conrad parent iii admitted to setting a car on fire on main street and the flames spread to the adjacent building. Stephanie Farmington Police say they got a call to a car on fire and when they rushed to main street, not only a car on fire, but the flames spread to the masonic temple. Engulfed in flames, parked next to a building. A car was on fire in the alley and something about it was suspicious. Myself and several officers from the department questioned people in the crowd and canvassed the neighborhood. Stephanie that left to 33yearold conrad parent iii who emery says lit it on fire. And he knows the owner of the car that was badly burned. There was extensive damage and its not going to be driven again. There was extensive damage inside and outside of the masonic lodge. One firefighter was injured, treated at a hospital for smoke inhalation. When we arrived, the flames had extended to the building and were up all three sides of the building. It has been incredibly warm, especially considering a lot of the days, weve been a good 10, even 20 degrees above the average high temperature. Believe it or not, today will likely be another red day, but above the average. So were at least getting closer to how cool it could be for this time in december. In the meantime, the wind are today. 5 Miles Per Hour right now and sustained wind in manchester, nothing to bark about at the moment. Once we get to the afternoon, there will be wind gusts up near 30 Miles Per Hour as this colder quebec. This is future wind and were looking at 1 00 in the afternoon, you can see the sustained winds up near 15, 20 Miles Per Hour especially on some of the higher summits. Its really going to be windy up there today. Here is 9 00 tonight, still gusty and these are the sustained winds up near 15 Miles Per Hour. So even overnight tonight, well see the winds diminish a little bit, but the type of thing youll probably go to bed and you can hear it rustling outside. We have some clouds at the moment and there will be sunny peeks throughout the clouds and lake effect snow thats actually making it to the southwestern corner of New Hampshire. With this colder air coming down from canada, as it meets up with our higher terrain or lakes, were going to get some snow showers to develop. Chance of scattered showers, nothing in the way of accumulation, but there may be even be a couple of snow showers hampshire. Its the type of day where its sunny and all of a sudden, you get a couple of snow showers and then youre back to sun just like that. The snow showers should be gone with the exception of some of the higher mountain peeks, but well get back to sunshine across the state tomorrow with temperatures in the 30s, more seasonable for this time in december. Portsmouth is 44 degrees, looks will see sunshine as we progress through the day. The wind chills, havent had to show this in a while, but its actually a bit colder because of the winds and the winds are going to continue to get piped up as we go through the day. So it will feel wind chilly all day. The threat of a few passing snow showers. No accumulation, but even here in southern New Hampshire, you might see the passing snow showers in the today and afternoon, too. Ill have a full breakdown and christmas week ahead, too, coming up. Officials say there was a data base breach in a system that holds its records about potential voters. But the dnc says that staffers from the Sanders Campaign shows from Hillary Clintons data. In response, the campaign fired the top data staffer, but the dnc temporarily suspended Sanders Campaign from the data base. They plan to restore that. The dnc will continue to investigate making sure the data inappropriately accessed with no longer deleted and no longer in possession of the Sanders Campaign. The campaign will continue to cooperate with the dnc investigation of this breach. Bernie Sanders Campaign manager issued a statement, saying now what we need to restore confidence in the dncs ability to secure data is an independent audit that encompasses the dncs transparency at the dnc is essential. Wmur political general john distaso weighed in how this mpact the debate. I think these candidates might be more tense and intense than they would have been going in. Amy meanwhile, the Granite State debate is in the spotlight tonight for the abc news democratic debate. Inside the hall the stage is set for tonights democratic debate the only one in New Hampshire. Hillary clinton, Bernie Sanders and mayor continue omalley will be in the spotlight. The satellite trucks are ready to carry this to the rest of the world. Its a media blitz stopping students in their tracks. While many prep for final exams, they cant help, but stop and look at the history on their campus. I stop in and see the stuff going on and its pretty exciting stuff. I think its really cool, cool that theyre hosting all of these people here. We are eight weeks away from the New Hampshire primary and between now and then well be taking a look each week at the eight biggest issues the new president is expected to face. Today we begin with National Security and the fight against terrorism. Here is wmurs sally kidd from our washington bureau. This was an act of terrorism. Paris, egypt and tunisia. This threat is magnifying. Expanding beyond iraq and syria. Eliminating isis or at least the next attack is what the next president will face. There is a strategy and its clear. Our isis strategy is not working. Its become a key question for the candidates. How to take on isis and roll back its territorial gains in iraq and syria. Paris underscores the degree of vulnerability in europe, the degree of vulnerability in the United States so i think weve got to step up our game. Some americans seem to agree. Several recent polls show growing support for increasing military force, including isis. Concerns and questions about strategy extend to the homeland. Indications of radicalization. Inspired attack left 14 dead in San Bernardino on december 2nd. The fbi says it has nearly a thousand active investigations into possible terrorist sympathizers in all 50 states. Despite the best efforts of our security and intelligence professionals, there will be plots that succeed. Weve got to accept that. From the terrorist threat to nuclear concerns, whoever wins the white house will oversee implementation of the Iran Nuclear Deal and deal with north Koreas Nuclear ambitions. Another critical condition. We have huge vulnerabilities. The threat of cyber terrorism. Fairly small actors could commit deproportional harm here in the United States against our infrastructure and they could bring our economy and our Financial System to a halt. And analysts say thats why the next president will need to develop better defenses to deter cyber attackers before they strike. Congress is working to information sharing bill this week. When i think of stealing money from kids in their christmas and birthday cards, i see nothing, but evil. Smith is a flexible parttime employee meaning she travels from one department to the next and theyre investigating to see if they have similar crimes in their towns. A man from new york was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges. Phillip binder was arrested after travelling to seabrook, New Hampshire. There he met an undercover agent he had spoken with in an online chat room, child sex abuse images. At the time the Police Seized video from binder, showing him sexually abusing a young child. A father and son from vermont are under arrest, busted with a large stash of drugs. The baymont inn after a tip from vermont state police. Inside the room officer discovered this, nearly two ounces of marijuana with 2500 individually wrapped bags of heroin with a street value of more than 50,000. Want to get right to showing you these webcams. Did you see the monadnock region one and you see on the ground there, thats some fresh snow. A light dusting there in the monadnock region. Whats crazy is those snow showers that are over that area showers. Theyre making it all the way over from lake ontario. You can see this band here. It makes it all the way across the southern adirondacks, all mountains of vermont and made it into parts of the monadnock region. Be careful, keene into dublin. Theres the snow coming down. For the rest of us, there will be a few passing snow showers as we go through the day. Nothing that will accumulate late like what youre seeing out in the monadnock region right now, but a few scattered snow showers up in the higher terrain, ongoing and for the rest of us, even into southern and southeastern New Hampshire, well probably see at least a couple of passing snow showers as we get you through the day here. Look at the lake effect snow coming off of lake ontario, lake erie, superior, huron, even michigan there. And this is the perfect setup for lake effect snow when you have the cold air getting dragged out of canada courtesy of stronger winds out of the northwest or west, over the warmer lake waters, you get the condensation to form as that interactions going on and then you get snow forming and the wind help blow it downstream and all the way to New Hampshire, pretty crazy. For concord, we havent had measurable snow and we tied the date for the first snow today. If we dont get any snow today well continue to climb up the list. The latest weve had the first snow in concord was on january 13th, the year 2000. So we have a ways to go, but ill tell you, today is really the only chance within the next seven days of seeing any measurable snow in concord, or at least a trace. So well have to do it today or its going to extended past christmas. 31 degrees in concord and manchester. Temperatures not all that chilly this morning, it could be a lot worse for this time in december, right . The wind about five Miles Per Hour, thats the sustained winds and this is and you see it kick up around 15 to 20 Miles Per Hour. There could even be some wind as we progress through the day. Sunshine for much of the day here and then youll get the spotty showers, one of the days where all of a sudden, youll get a quick burst, and then back to sunshine. Sunday, tomorrow, a far less chance of any snow showers, except for the higher terrain. Were back to sunshine and temperatures a bit colder on sunday. It will feel more like december here. Take a look at the forecast for today. Cooler and windy, temperatures in the 30s, really, across the state and 37 in milford, new warren 34 and lincoln 27. 32 degrees in lancaster and benefit bethlehem, and look at those temperatures. This is a temporary cooldown on christmas eve. We could approach 60 in many communities. So any snow we get over the weekend here, which is minimal, will melt. And shortly after midnight, the dnc announced they plan to restore Bernie Sanders access to voter files. Earlier this week, there was a data data breach. Each campaign with add other information that other campaigns arent positioned to see, but the dnc says staffers from the Sanders Campaign viewed and downloaded information from Hillary Clintons data. In response the Sanders Campaign fired its top data staffer. But the dnc temporarily suspended Sanders Campaign from the data base. 12page lawsuit accusing Party Leaders of trying to undermine his bid for the white house. You dont get to give the campaign a Death Penalty because some young staffer who has been fired made an act of misjudgment. Amy but early this morning, dnc chair debby Wasserman Schultz says the party is restoring sanders access to the file and in a statement said that the party will continue to investigate to make sure that the data is deleted and no longer in the possession of the Sanders Campaign and says that she hopes the focus can go back to the debate, something that clintons Campaign Manager echoed in an interview with news 9. Look, i hope the debate is about the issues. Voters are interested in how peopling going to help get wages rising again and get child carement i hope thats what its about. Amy the Sanders Campaign issued extremely pleased that the dnc has reversed its outrageous decision to take senator sanders data. And its the same information we sent them by email on thursday. So, other than in the monadnock region and the Higher Elevations for the rest of us today, its spotty snow showers, wouldnt expect anything more than maybe a dusting. But you see the snow showers down in the monadnock region, theyre streamers coming off lake ontario and theyre so strong theyre reaching southwestern New Hampshire. Happening. Colder temperatures today and even into our sunday and more on the winds and the full forecast in a couple of minutes. We move now to an arson arrest out of farmington. 33yearold conrad parent iii admitted to setting a car on fire at main street. Wmurs stephanie woods has the story. Farmington police say they got a call about a car on fire thursday afternoon. When they rushed to the scene here on main street, they found not only a car on fire, but that the flames had spread to the masonic temple. We found a vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames, it was parked up right next to the building. At about 4 45 thursday afternoon, a fire broke out in farmington. Detective matt embry says suspicious. Myself and several officers from the department questioned people in the crowd and canvassed the neighborhood. Rad parent iii of farmington, who embry said deliberately lit the car on fire. Ultimately ended up confessing to the fire. Parent knows the owner of the car which was badly burned. There was extensive damage to the car, its not driven ever again. There with an extensive damage inside and outside of the masonic lodge. No one was inside at the time of the fire, but one firefighter was injured, treated at the hospital for smoke inhalation. When we arrived, the flames had extended to the building and were up all three stories up the side of the building. Officers arrested parent and charged him with felonious arson, but embry says its not his First Encounter with Farmington Police. Ill say were familiar with him. The investigation is still ongoing. That will happen as we go through the day. There will be a mix of sun and clouds and as you see, some snow showers moving across the state, too. This morning, theyve mostly been confined to the Higher Elevations and the monadnock regions. The reason are getting snow effect snow, you see that going, and this happens when you get cold air going over the warm lake waters and you get this condensation to form and you get the snow showers and its a very narrow band of snow showers already over a foot of snow, by the way, in the tug hill plateau, but this made it all the way across the Green Mountains of vermont and into the monadnock region. Those of you waking up in keen, jaffery, youve got a lake effect snow from hundreds of miles away. Look at temperatures right now, weve fallen to concord and 26 in lebanon, a chilly start, but today, we will again actually make it above the average. The average high for this time is about 36, 37 degrees, and most of us will make it at least a degree or two above that. So well add another red day, meaning temperatures above the average high. Month, december 1st, where the average. This is crazy. Well continue on with the tomorrow. Maybe well be able to break the stretch, tomorrow looks colder than even today, but then next week, were talking 50s again as we approach christmas. The wind are going to be the main driver of this cold air today about 5 Miles Per Hour, the sustained wind in manchester. Once we get to the afternoon, look at this, the wind are going to start to howl. This is sustained winds, 15, 20 Miles Per Hour and even tonight, theyre going to be wrestling around and youre trying to head to bed tonight. Scattered snow showers throughout the day. Well, youve got some snow there in dublin and the monadnock region and also up north we have snow in the Higher Elevations. Not the case show of the rest of southern New Hampshire and central New Hampshire, too. Theres a live look in derry. Its overcast, but the sun is clouds. Eventually well see sunshine as we get through the day. Even in central and southern New Hampshire, we likely will get a couple of snow showers marches across the state as we go through the day here. This happens when we get cold air coming down. It meets up a lot of times with our higher terrain and we can get the snow to form. Thats absolutely whats happening up in the northern part of the state, but Something Else is going on in the monadnock region. Snow. Its coming right off lake ontario and its surviving the track across the Green Mountains ill zoom down and show you here. We have some heavy snow in parts of the monadnock region from peterborough to jaffery to hancock and 101 toward keene and swansee. Probably the roads are very slick in this area and its hilo cal hilo highly localized. Anded bands, maybe a couple of inches in the monadnock region this morning and that will result in slippery travel. Be careful there. Ill zoom you up in the northern part of the state. Now, this is more of mountain induced snow showers that are going on, but you can see in berlin, theyve got snow and colebrook. These are ongoing, too. In the monadnock region and in the mountains today. An inch or two of snowfall. The rest of us, it would be a quick passing snow shower and you can see the lake effect snow youve got a streamer coming off lake erie, too, this is the perfect conditions for it. Now, as for the rest of us, in central and southern New Hampshire, especially for concord, we still havent seen measurable snow. Today, we tie the number five latest for snow, for concord, december 19th. Now, if we get past today without any measurable snow in concord, well start to see ourselves go up the list. The latest first snow has ever year 2000. So weve got a little ways to go before we break that record. Temperatures now 20s and 30s across the state, but its going to be much colder today and the winds are going to become gusty out of the northwest. So, scattered snow showers throughout the rest of the day, and even overnight tonight, up north, and then tomorrow, well get sunshine back. Moving now to an arson arrest out of farmington. Conrad parent iii admitted to setting a car on fire. The flames spread to an adjacent building. Wmur stephanie woods. A car on fire thursday afternoon. When they rushed the seen here on main street. They found not only a car on fire, but that the flames had spread to the masonic temple. And we found a vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames, it was parked up next to the building. At 4 45, a fire broke out an in an alley off main street in farmington. Something about it was suspicious. Myself and several officers people in the crowd and canvassed the neighborhoods. That led to 33yearold conrad parent iii of farmington who embry says deliberately lit the car on fire. Ultimately, he ended up confessing to the fire. He says that embry knows the parent of the company which was badly burned. There was extensive damage to the car, thats not going to be driven ever again. There was extensive damage to the inside and outside of the farmington masonic lodge. No one was inside at the time of the fire, but one firefighter was injured, treated at a hospital for smoke inhalation. When we arrived, the flames had extended to the building and were up all three stories on the side of the building. Officers arrested parent and arson. Weve got some sun poking through and the same thing is at the seacoast. Once we get through to the afternoon. Some snow showers will become a lot more numerous, especially in central and southeastern parts of the state. Not expect i go anything in the way of accumulation in these areas, but its one of these days where its sunny and you get a cloud overhead and a burst of snow showers and youre back to sunshine and that will be the case for central and southern New Hampshire, but for these areas, down in the monadnock region and the Higher Elevations, the snow is coming down and accumulating in some areas. Here is where there might be some tricky travel this morning. If your your travels take you toward peterborough, temple and even keene were hearing that 101 could be snow covered in of snow, also up toward hancock, stoddard and farther to the south and there might be some slippery roads due to the snow coming down and also some snow showers getting going in berlin, be careful as your travels take you up there in those areas this morning. There could be slick spots coming down and accumulating in those areas at least. Get this, the. He thats been falling out in the monadnock region is actually snow that has originated over the lakes, great lake, lake erie here or ontario. The cold air is coming over the warmer lake water, it condenses and you get the snow and we have the strong westerly wind and thats carrying it all the way to southwestern New Hampshire. So its, you know, a few hundred miles away from us and were keene and jaffery. 32 in laconia, 33 in plymouth. Its mild, one day the first of the month we had high temperatures below the average. Today well have temperatures a couple of degrees warmer than the average, but certainly closer today with winds in the 30s. The winds 8 Miles Per Hour in concord. Look how beautiful this shot is from dublin there. Weve had reports of snow from swansee and jaffery, nelson, greenville, peterborough. Mainly a light dusting. I wouldnt be surprised. An inch to a half inch with the sun poking through the clouds and same thing is true in conway with the snow, you can see the ground there, not white. But we do have some snow showers as well. Here is the latest on the satellite and radar and the scoop. We have some much colder air coming down from canada. Its courtesy of the west, get the setup, the cold air is coming down with strong winds and the cold air meets up with the mountains and its forced to go up over the mountains and condenses and you get mountain snow showers, but we also have Something Else thats a main driver of these snow showers and thats actually lake effect snow thats going on and reaching all the way into the monadnock region. So Communities Just to the south of hillsborough, there you go, in dublin there, you can see the snow showers still ongoing there, but probably along 101 from milford and even wilton, we had a report of some light snow there, too. All along 101 toward keene, could be very slippery right now. So, a heads up if thats where your travels are taking you this morning. Ill zoom you down up top here in the northern part of the state. You can see the snow coming down heavy as well. In berlin, gorham and lancaster. In the monadnock region and up north, we could be talking as much as an inch or two of its going to be much more hit or miss snow showers. You can see these ribbons of lake effect snow coming right off of lake ontario and lake erie and michigan and huron and the snow coming from lake ontario is a good 200 miles away and its still making it all the way to the monadnock region. Pretty crazy. Look at the temperatures now, a chilly start. 35 in manchester, and 30 degrees keene and jaffray, 20s in lebanon, as we go through the day, really not much of a temperature bump because of the cold air coming in and with the winds, which are sustained around 10 Miles Per Hour right now, its going to feel even colder. As we progress through the day, winds will be up near 15, 20 Miles Per Hour, sustained, and some gusts near 30. So its going to feel all the more colder because of the wind gusts, too. Scattered snow showers, especially heavy up north and in the monadnock region through the day today. Clearing skies overnight tonight and sunday, looks like a good day tomorrow. Mostly sunny, no more snow here is what you can expect for the next 24 hours or so, at least, on saturday today. Well have the snow showers moving through, and then by the evening time, the snow showers should wrap up, well have partly cloudy skies and definitely colder conditions as we get into tonight with temperatures falling into the 20s.
