The superintendent for timberlane says they got a letter from the union last week, saying there were contract issues, and that services could be affected. Parents were quickly notified. The schools says if the strike does happen, it likely will not start for at least three weeks. But they are already working on backup plans, and some parents are working to organize a we are not quite sure what that will all mean. But currently, we are looking at traffic routes and those kinds of things, about how we would get that many cars with that many students into our schools. We will get through this one way or another. But really, we have great families and great kids. Later today, some road paving on 293 southbound at exit for will cause significant delays. Crews are asking you to plan accordingly and take an alternate route if possible. If you are headed into massachusetts, 93 north at exit 39, a truck has lost about 250 gallons of fuel, and debris on the road has disabled five or six cars. Ray brewer joins us live now outside the union office in manchester to explain what led up to this warning. Is centered on a contract dispute with the bus drivers. And if the strike does happen, it could affect more than 4000 students from five towns could from five towns. Buses were on schedule thursday at timberlane regional high school, but the service could bd it basically indicated that they were having some contractual issues. May withhold services from the district. For me, it was a dont mess with our kids moment. Ray the School District informed parents right away about the situation involving First Student employees, just as a precaution. We are told the labor dispute is over a pension plan. We hire a vendor. We have a contract with them. Their employees unionize midcontract, that is complicating some of the work. That is something they need to dr. Earl metzler says the strike would not happen for at least three weeks, but they are putting together a plan b if something should occur. When you have a no strike clause and a contract, you get in front of a judge and you get an injunction. That would be part of the plan. Ray parents are also starting to organize a car pool system, just in case. We are not quite sure that we will need it. But currently we are looking at traffic that many students into our school. We will get through this, one way or another. But really it will be because we have great families and great kids. Incumbent republican congressman sheaporter, and independent Shawn Oconnor all took part. In their fourth Granite State debate matchup, guinta and sheaporter took turns taking jabs at oconnor. Sheaporter took digs at his business record, while guinta slammed him as a Bernie Sanders progressive. Guinta mr. Oconnor has identified himself as a progressive democrat, a berniecrat, and thats why he was running for a year and a half in the democratic primary. Sheaporter he had a boutique business that helped people get actually have right now. Oconnor i understand that both the congresswoman and the congressman are upset about my meteoric rise in the polls, but the fact of the matter is, i created jobs here in New Hampshire. Sean tonight, the candidates for the second Congressional District will face off in our fourth and final Granite State debate. Police say an officer spotted 35yearold kevin denbow driving a car that was reported stolen on wednesday afternoon. The officer tried to stop the car, but it sped off. Denbow eventually stopped and took off on foot, but he was quickly captured. Police say he also had a warrant for his arrest out of allenstown for burglary. A Seabrook Police officer suffered minor injuries when his cruiser collided with a public works pickup truck. The accident happened shortly before 8 00 yesterday morning on route 286.
