Dover is honoring lt. Christopher dewolf, a firefighter who died back in 2005. Now, his legacy is living on through a Scholarship Fund aimed at training a Younger Generation of firefighters. Wmur s Kristen Carosa joined the group today and joins us live with their story. Kristen lt. Christopher dewolf was described to me today as someone who was a happy caring person who had a passion for teaching others about fire safety something that now lives , on through this fund. On a cold day in february, a deceased firefighter is being remembered. Chris cared so much about everything. He was a fun guy. He was big into training. Kristen he died while on duty in a car accident in 2005. He spent most of his firefighting career in dover and newington. This fundraising event was put on by a group of people who created a scholarship in his name. It is to keep his name alive and keep money coming in to keep the scholarship going for other people to get into the fire service. Kristen friends say scholarships are given out each science and emergency medicine. His son says it is something his dad had a passion for. Education was huge with him. Obviously with the increasing price of tuition, it is not always easy so being able to help people start that journey is nice. Kristen he is one of them. He received a scholarship seven years ago. Chris always wanted to help train firefighters. He is still able to do that through his Scholarship Fund. It is very touching to be part of that. Kristen those who knew him say he believed in family, the fire service, and the community. They say he had an impact on everyone. In the middle of training sessions, he would break out dancing. He was so full of life. Kristen it is the reason the group works so hard to make sure he is never forgotten. I miss the humor, the intensity, and passion he had for the fire service. I want to pass that on to somebody else. Family and group of people that support this Scholarship Fund. Head to wmur. Com for ways to help support it. Live in studio, Kristen Carosa, wmur news 9.
