Police say 33yearold Eric Williams of hampton was pronounced dead at the scene saturday afternoon. Good evening, i m adam sexton. Stephanie and i m stephanie woods. Police say williams was speeding away from police right before he crashed. Wmur s Kristen Carosa spoke to state police today and joins us now with the details. Kristen Eric Williams was driving a 2007 ford crown victoria, a car he made several driving violations in. But when police attempted to pull him over, he only drove faster. The pursuit started saturday afternoon on the eastbound side of route 101 in exeter. Williams didn t stop and hit speeds over 100 Miles Per Hour. He lost control and rolled his car over several times. Guardrails were smashed on the eastbound and westbound sides of the highway. Williams did not have his seatbelt on and was thrown from the car. He was pronounced dead at the police shut down both sides of route 101 between exits 11 and 12 for several hours. In the area just east of exit 11, the operator made a sudden movement in the vehicle which caused him to lose control and subsequently struck the guardrail on the highspeed side, rolled over several times in the median, and the vehicle came to rest.
