Believed to be dead. Jcial Officials Say a drone strike killed the man who murdered several hostages including New Hampshire journalist james foley. Reporter were here outside the home of jim foleys parents. The slain journalist last visited here in the summer of 2012, that was just a few months before he was taken hostage. They havent seen him since. We do know that because of all this they have been very open with the media two years later, they met with the crush of media outside the house to talk about his death at the hands of isis by a man they later learned was jihadi john. John foley says the fact that Islamic Militant Mohammed Emwazi may have been killed by an American Strike brings the family little solace. He and his wife say rather than focusing on one misguided low level recruit theyd rather have directed at savings james foley and the six other hostages that died at the hands of isis. It makes absolutely no difference that hes been killed or may have been killed. The war is ongoing. But honestly i really dont want to talk about it because it glorifies his existence, which facilitates potentially further recruitment. Reporter New Hampshires two u. S. Senators maintain that while killing Mohammed Emwazi wont bring jim foley back, it does bring a measure of justice. It sends a very strong message to other terrorists that we are not going to tolerate this kind of barbarism. I think its important to underscore that we need to deliver justice to all who james foley, Steven Sotloff and others. Reporter coming up at 6 00 well hear from both of james foleys parents. Tonight we are learning more about what investigators say led up to the deadly overdose of a rochester teenager who was found in a motel room last month. Police say eve tarmey overdosed on fentanyl in the same room as her mother and her mothers boyfriend. They were both in court today. Wmurs mike cronin joins us live with more details. Reporter these Court Documents say that the mothers boyfriend, mark ross, did not call police after discovering that tarmey was dead. Now he, tarmeys mother, and another woman are all charged in connection with her death. An affidavit details what allegedly happened before 17yearold eve tarmey was found dead in a Rochester Motel room on october 17th. She was staying there with her mother, jazzmyn rood, and her mothers boyfriend, mark ross. Earlier Court Documents say tarmey, ross and another woman, leslie eberly, went to methuen, massachusetts to buy what they thought was heroin. Ross allegedly told investigators he bought two grams of heroin for 80. They were supposed to meet tarmeys boyfriend, but he never showed up. When they returned to the motel, Court Documents say tarmey was upset. So ross gave her what he thought was heroin to calm her down. The toxicology results showed it was actually fentanyl, 30 times more powerful than heroin. Around 3 30 in the morning, Court Documents say ross saw the teen slumped over in bed and knew she was dead. Instead of calling 911, the paperwork says ross spent an hour and a half cleaning up the motel room, and disposing needles in the dumpster. Ross i charged with five felonies, one punishable by life in prison. Tarmeys mother is charged with two felonies, each punishable up to seven years in prison. The third person charged was arraigned in newburyport, massachusetts today, shes held without bail. Mike cronin. Josh now to commitment 2016, and another major republican candidate put his name on the today. Kentucky senator rand paul arrived at the secretary of States Office just afternoon time to fill out the paperwork and drew a pretty good crowd. One of the questions from the media focused on the heroin problem in New Hampshire, and paul says he would lift restrictions on Health Care Providers when it comes to treatment. It would allow nurse prak titioners more freedom to see drug addicts and would also allow some Trained Health professionals in addition, so we would expand the treatment of it. I think the treatment of heroin should be a treatment of a addiction, and not so much an incarceration problem, but something that we treat as an addiction problem. If you lessen how much money we spend on incarceration for drug problems. Josh he says he would not favor cross border enforcement to get to the source of the heroin production until that country gave its permission. Also, George Pataki was in the state today. The former new york governor spoke behave gathering of americans for peace, prosperity and security. This afternoon at u. N. H. Manchester. During a roundtable discussion, pataki stronged for a stronger foreign policy. In addition he had harsh words for Donald Trumps proposed Deportation Force to move Illegal Immigrants back across the border. I think trumps idea is just ridiculous. And jeb bush and john kasich also in the state today. Bush held a town hall in franklin this morning. Kasich has a town hall beginning in laconia in about a halfhour. Tomorrow night the Democratic Candidates for president will take to the debate stage for the second time, and this one will iowa. It is a national debate, but fuel subsidies will than an important topic. One of the moderators explain what voters will be looking for tomorrow night. Probably the hottest issue for a iowans is immigration, with which is one of the reasons trump may be doing well here. Hispanics are the largest Minority Group in iowa, they have surfaced africanamericans in the last 10 to 15 years. Josh unlike the first democratic debate, there will be only three candidates on stage, clinton, omalley and sanders, bat us that jim webb and Lincoln Chaffee are no longer in the running. And the debate may not mean much to a lot of delegates. Most democratic super delegates, the that includes New Hampshire, are already supporting Hillary Clinton. More than 80 responded to this poll. Nationally 359 say they are in clintons corner. Just a handful are committed to sanders or omalley. In New Hampshire six of our eight super delegates say they are backing Hillary Clinton. These representatives do have the option of supporting any candidate they want to at next years convention regardless of the outcome of the primary or the caucus. Of course, none of these things are binding, just because somebody has pledged their support to hillary publicly doesnt men they can change their mind. But she has a sizable lead. It would be hard for Bernie Sanders to flip enough of these folks until the convention comes, something pretty unusual would have to happen or unexpected. Josh we should note that one of New Hampshires super delegates before the primary and thats Democratic Party chair ray buckley. But ultimately were seeing that time. Reporter doctors, nurses and others in the medical field friday were educated on how to assess each patient before prescribing a painkiller. An individualized approach that includes everything from drug records. This is the first in a series of regional opioid education conferences, announced by governor Maggie Hassan in august. We know that we can prevent including provider training and aadopting best prescribing practices. Reporter they also talked about alternative ways to treat pain. It means exercise as tolerated, not no pain no gain, but an exercise program, self management of stress, mindfulness is becoming a very important intervention or deep relaxation by other means. Beginning to understand what increases and decreases their pain. Unfortunately we are on a spectrum right now where we went from managing pain to pain was the fifth vital sign to patients have an expectation of no pain. And quite frankly, when youre a very busy practitioner, medications are easier and we start prescribing medications and then we started to realize this is causing a problem. Reporter dr. Diane snow wants to play a role in turning this around and learn how to keep patients safe while still treating them. This is incredibly time consuming for a fulltime provider to be able to get this information is difficult. We can be handed the information and resources that we need to then go back into the community and help is going to be critical. Reporter while prescription opiates was the focus, the attorney general and Police Officers were also participants. However, were starting to see a wind turning around to the northwest and you know what that means, some colder air and with some moisture still left over, vem we get a eventually we get a change from rain over to snow. Take a look at whats happening with the radar, not too much over central and southern New Hampshire. But to the north the showers are continuing on and off at least through the evening into early tomorrow morning, and thats where we could see a light accumulation right through that time frame. Again a lot of cool air building in from the north and west, so signs of change coming on in w. The mild air going by the boards, it replaced by seasonably chilly stuff, again very typical for the month of november. Weve seen anything but that over the past 10 to 12 days to start off this month. Readings are lining up close to the average highs for this time of year and the winds continue to blow out of the west at a pretty good clip, from 15 to 30 Miles Per Hour in many spots, the latest gusts coming in, about about in laconia and a little lower, but still breezy in many other parts of the state. Mixed showers tonight, that means rain changing over to snow, White Mountains through the great north woods. Big chunk of cold air building in from the north and west to kick off the weekend, accompanied by winds tomorrow, it will feel much colder than it was for today. Despite even those wind that were active. Notice on future cast, rain and snow showers change over to all snow in parts of northern New Hampshire. Again theres not a storm by any stretch, but lingering moisture with enough cold air makes it tricky for some in northern sections. In southern areas, after say 9 00 or 10 00 there could be a mixed shower in central parts of the state, especially in the higher terrain, then it clears out by morning, while the clouds persist in northern sections. Beyond that most of the clouds tomorrow in the great north woods, White Mountains. Bright skies with high cloud on sunday. In terms of snow up north, you saw this in october, or a little stretch there when it was quite chilly before we warmed up in november. So a coating to an inch or two cant be ruled out. Berlin, pittsburgh, through the heart of the White Mountains with the one to two inch amounts elevations. For tonight again the wind continue to blow, turning around to the northwest, mixed showers change over to a bit of snow up north. Any showers will give way to clearing in southern parts of the state. Saturday. Well call it windy at times as we could see gusts over 30 to 35 on sunday, slightly lower in the wind department, slightly milder not a bad stretch monday through wednesday and possibly thursday of next week. Josh were going to break in right now, president obamas remarks in the wake of the terror attacks. President obama across paris tonight, once again weve seen an outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians. This is an attack not just on paris, its an attack not just on the people of france. But this is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values that we share. Provide whatever assistance that the government and the people of france need to respond. France is our oldest ally. The french people have stood shoulder to shoulder with the United States time and again. And we want to be very clear that we stand together with them in the fight against terrorism and extremism. Paris itself represents the progress. Those who think that they can terrorize the people of france or the values that they stand for are wrong. The American People draw strength from the french peoples commitment to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness. We are reminded in this time of tragedy that the bonds of liberte, egalite, fraternity, are not only values that the french people care about, but they are values that we share. And those values are going to endure far beyond any act of terrorism or the hateful vision of those who perpetrated the crimes this evening. Were going to do whatever it takes to work with the french people and with nations around the world to bring these terrorists to justice and to go after any terrorist networks that go after our people. We dont yet know all the details of what has happened. We have been in contact with french officials to communicate our deepest condolences to the families of those who would kill, to offer our prayers and naughts to those who have been wounded. We have offered our full support to them. The situation is till unfolding. President hollande at this time because my expectation is that hes very busy at the moment. I actually, by coincidence, was talking to him earlier today in preparation for the g20 meeting. But i am confident that ill be in direct communication with him over the next few days and well be coordinating in any ways they think are helpful in the investigation of whats happened. This is a heartbreaking situation, and obviously those of us here in the United States know what its like. Weve gone through these kinds of episodes ourselves. And when ever these kinds of attacks happen, weve always been able to count on the french people to stand with us. They have been an extraordinary counterterrorism partner, and we intend to be there with them in that same fashion. Im sure that in the days ahead well learn more about exactly what happened, and my teams will make sure that we under communication with the press to provide you accurate information. I dont want to speculate at this point in terms of who is responsible for this. It appears that there may still be live activity, and dangers that are taking place as we speak. So until we know from french officials that the situation is under control and we have more information about it, i dont want to speculate. Thank you very much. Josh remarks from president barack obama as the city of paris is under seenl tonight in what appears to be a series of coordinated terror aattacks.
