with the latest. >> reporter: the officer was at the center of an intense search after he went missing over the weekend, but early sunday morning, officer gahiji tshamba turned himself in at central booking. police were looking for him since friday when a warrant was issued for his arrest. he faces murder charges in the death of tyrone brown. brown was shot 12 times, a lot more than initially reported. tshamba shot brown after brown grabbed tshamba's female companion. prosecutors are moving forward with the case. >> it'll be handled in a similar manner to the other homicide investigations and prosecutions that we handle. >> reporter: one key element in this case is whether tshamba identified himself as a police officer during the altercation. that would technically put him on duty. the reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction into the death of a state trooper is up to $75,000. wesley brown was shot to death at an applebee's restaurant in pee gee county where what he working security. a person of interest is was arrested, but hasn't been charged. brown had been a state trooper for 30 years. anyone with information is asked to call police right away. police have still not released the name of a teenager pulled from the water in lynch cover. the teenager couldn't be found on saturday. neighbors tell us the spot where the teen went into the water isn't the best
