tore through granbury. they can hear their home being destroyed up above. >> i look at brandon and he goes a love you mom. and i said grab the closet door and shut it and he went to grab it and he flew out and i was right behind him. >> green and her boys wend flying. she did survive. she suffered a fractured neck and almost lost an ear. her youngest son is heading off to college to study meteorology. today we remember firefighters who died while doing their life's passion. we have more from cheryl. >> baltimore county firefighters were honored with the memory of a young -- volunteer so fresh. >> one name is added to the list this year. >> gene m. kirschner. >> reporter: just 25 years old, kirchner died on may 2nd a week after doing a house fire. he spent nine years as a volunteer. >> i'm sure the crowd would be larger and happier with the recent memory. >> faulken and kirschner are among the 24 volunteer members of the baltimore fire department to die in the line of duty. 20 career members are also read aloud. >> it all comes down to a desire to help people, whether it is just responding to an elderly person to put them back in bed or fighting a major fire. >> reporter: a wreath was placed on the memorial shrine as family walked around, honoring a life that ended in service. and carrying the wreath at today's ceremony was gene kirschner's twin brother will. the investigation into his brother's death continues. cheryl connor, abc 2 news. >> and a stabbing on the campus of ubmc. a fight in a dorm led to one man under arrest, at 6:00 in the morning, inside of eriksson hall. the student stabbed will be okay. they arrested kobe crates off campus charging him with assault. the 22-year-old had recently withdrawn. >> two teens in the 1200 block of glenn don avenue and police found two boys with gunshot wounds, one shot in the head and the other shot in the leg with a graze wound to the face and both taken to the hospital and in stable condition. >> now here is an update on breaking news we brought on friday. a train derailment in connecticut, investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the crash and as they untangle the train the only way to boston and new york is by car. the rail service will resume toward the end of the week. >> all she did was sit on a bus, riding away on friday night, just blocks from her house there was gunfire. the teen was killed by a stray bullet. someone fired rounds into the bus. the teen was pronounced dead at a local hospital and they do not believe she was a target. >> president obama came to morehouse to deliver the commencement address. this atlanta school is the alma mater of dr. martin luther king, jr. the president said the points and minds have been changed and that someone like you can become the president of the united states. >> it is up to you to care about justice for everybody, white, black and brown. everybody, not just in your own community, but all across this country and around the world. >> well the president received an honorary doctorate of laws from morehouse. >> and the school is not named after her, but if scandal keeps it up, it may be. kerry washington by the fee most of us pay on our cell phone bills. >> the program is called life line, is it for you? >> oh, yeah. but a scripps investigation is exposing how linda and all of these people may have put their own privacy on the line. >> oh, my gosh. >> it started with a google search. researching life line cell phone providers a scripps reporter typed in the words telecom and oka home city and there were files containing applications and personal information like driver's licenses, food stamp cards, birth dates and full social security numbers. personal information spanning 26 states all accessible online. in texas 10,000 life line applications exposed. >> how can they make it so easy to steal somebody's identity. >> in indiana 17,000 applications, 9 people's names from this mall in indianapolis are in these files alone. we showed brenda spivey her information. >> i'm amazed because that is supposed to be confidential. >> tara com promises to control privacy controls. using laptops and photographing i.d. cards on ipads like this man in tulsa, the scc regulation said no life line provider should contain this type of information but danny smith who worked for safety link said his boss told him to write down social security numbers in a book and e-mail the i.d.s. >> i would take a picture of your food stamp or medicaid card and then e-mail him my pictures. >> and we discovered on his boss' facebook page a posting of an actual applicant's medicaid card. >> if someone wanted to commit fraud, this is an easy way to get into the program and do it. >> safe link fired both employees for violating company policy. this information in the wrong hands has serious consequences. in illinois, this man chauncey hicks is accused of posing as a lifeline provider and bilking 47,000 people out of thousands in food stamp benefits and that worries linda mendez. >> it makes me mad. >> any breach of their information may be too high of a price to pay, even for a virtually free phone. >> i can't believe this. >> reporter: tara com declined to do an on-camera interview but in a statement said, quote, we deeply regret that this incident occurred. upon being notified of the breach we took immediate steps to secure the personal data of applicants to prevent any further unauthorized access and we should let you know that the attorney general of indiana has launched his own humidity up there at 94%. it is an easterly wind off the bay and the bay water temperature right now sits at 66 degrees. so our numbers not going to move much tonight. we'll be around 63 degrees, waking up tomorrow morning. there could be patches of dense fog, toward the east -- eastern shore. and we'll talk about that on good morning maryland. and steady through the lunchtime. 78 at 3:00. could be a couple of showers and gusty thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon as a warm front moves in. 80 degrees tomorrow afternoon gets us close to 90 by tuesday and wednesday. i'll show you that forecast in a second. 70 in the city, to the north and west around 84, darlington is 62, chestertown 64 and 66 in centreville. but look at the dew point. and again dew point values into the 60s on the muggy side. when you get close to 70 that is oppressive and the dew points close to 70 in culpeper and that is just an indication that a lot of heat and humidity is on the way and moving from south to north. visibility down to 7 at the airport. 5 in dover. 5 in wilmington. the numbers will fall during the course of tonight. so fog certainly in the forecast. dough have a warm front stationary sichu ated south of the city. and then we'll see more sunshine and we bank on that coming into play by tuesday. so 66 here in baltimore. 70 in morgantown. into the 70s in the north carolina coastline. but look at the heat down to the south. west memphis just a shave off 90 degrees. and there are scattered showers out there right now. down to the south, you notice around say just to the south and west of washington, d.c. there is a steady band of showers that will move into anne arundel county, so tomorrow morning's commute could see patches of heavy rain. it is not a washout for the morning commute but a couple of steady showers could move into your direction. you go out to west and we talked about this at the top of the show, look at the gusty showers and thunderstorms from minneapolis down to kansas city, wichita, there is clean- up going on tomorrow afternoon and we still have active tornado watches outside of chicago. so this is nasty weather that has set up. if you have travel plans into chicago or kansas city, check with your carrier because of the dangerous weather. that storm system responsible for the tornadoes, pushing toward the east and that will increase our chance of showers and gusty thunderstorms each and every day this week. so tuesday, wednesday a possibility of a gusty shower and thunderstorm. eventually the low moves into the city as we go into your day on thursday and that is when we do think a round of potentially severe storms could come into play. so numbers tomorrow morning is into the 70s. muggy and there could be a couple of scattered showers out there. pain a thunderstorm in -- maybe a thunderstorm in the afternoon with the temperature around 80. then we sky rocket with the temperatures, 85-90 degrees by your day on tuesday. and there could be a late-day shower and thunderstorm. and so our most accurate forecast said it will be muggy, mild and cloudy and foggy tomorrow morning. 63 for the overnight. and that number is going to be there for the 7:00 a.m. commute. tomorrow we hit 80 degrees with a chance of a late-day shower and gusty thunderstorm and then for monday night, we are not getting out of the 60s with an early thunderstorm possible. here is the maryland accurate seven-day forecast. tuesday late day shower and thunderstorm. wednesday we do it again. late day shower and thunderstorm. a better shot of thunderstorms coming into play for thursday at 83 degrees. and it is cooler and dryer, the all important on memorial day weekend. so storm shield is a good app to have. lynette charles is a great
