departments around our area have been delaying or cancelling h1n1 vaccination clinics because they don't have any vaccine. christian schaefer has that story tonight. and is there any idea when we might get more vaccine? report short answer to that one, no. the state health department will only say that more vaccine will arrive in the weeks ahead. 1 million doses should be available by the end of this month, that total is now only to be 530,000. it's coming, just not fast enough for many parents. lisa fast's daughter has asthma and that puts jessica into two of the groups that health officials say need to be vaccinated against the h1n1 vey virus. >> too much going around, co-workers, kids, panic things with the parents. >> reporter: but jessica has not been vaccinated and not for lack of effort. >> my doctor's office says they don't know if they will get theirs at all. so it's just a waiting game. >> reporter: it's a concern shared by thousands of parents which has no clinics scheduled at this time. >> my doctor's office doesn't have it. i talked to him about t they don't know when they'll get it in. >> reporter: tracy has two teenage sons. she says the case of walter brooks of anne arundel county who died last week was a wake-up call. brooks' parents said he'd been diagnosed with the swine flu. state and federal officials should have been able to get more vaccine delivered sooner. >> back in june and july they first started talking about it. what happened to the rest of the time? >> reporter: state health officials say the distribution is working pu there isn't enough supply to go around, meaning all parents can do is wait. >> it's frustrating because i do worry. like i said, my daughter has asthma and i would like for her to get vaccinated. >> county, nothing in harford, and anne arundel is asking people to call and make an apoinment. there's one on friday at the hippodrome. check back often. more clinics will be scheduled. >> if you plan right? >> doctors are recommended you get two shots for your children. one is better than none, but that two-shot demand for children along with these scary stories we've been seeing is increasing the to h1n1. brooks' parents say he came down with what appeared to be a cold but it got worse fass. he was hospitalized. another infection took hold. tomorrow's funeral is at the heritage community church in severn. a baltimore man has been indicted on first degree murder charges in the burning death of his grandmother. police say tyrone mason sprayed ethel henderson with shellac thinner and set her on fire. this happened back on march. he set her on fire because she refused to give him money. tomorrow morning a baltimore city officer could find out how long he'll be suspended for reportedly pulling out his gun at a haunted house in baltimore county. the house of screams in essex turned into a really scary place sunday night for an actor playing the part of leather face. officer janik allegedly pointed his service weapon at the actor. >> i think you're safe at these kind of attractions. there was no threat to the people going through there, to tell you the truth. it was just an officer making a rarely poorly thought out move. no one was hurt but it was frightening. >> the officer immediately told the actor it's okay, i'm a cop. employees called 911 anyway and the officer was questioned in the parking lot. county police say there was alcohol on his breath. he's been ruled an extreme danger to public safety and will stay behind bars until hits trial. thomas meighhan is charged with killing miriam. witnesses say he was blowing red lights, hitting a woman near johns hopkins university and getting involved in another hit and run in east baltimore all in a four-hour time period. he's charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving bodily injury or death. a pennsylvania man will be sleeping behind bars tonight after police say he tried to steal or carjack at least four cars all within 10 minutes. it happened saturday night in the 7400 block of railroad avenue near dorsey road. gary ensor drove his pickup truck on to the train tracks. the truck got stuck and moments after he abandoned it it was hit by a train. then ensor roamed the area and tried to break into three carries cars and carjacks another. all the victims confronted him and he went away. >> the suspect left the scene and through investigation officers were talking to victims, getting that description, they broadcast that description and located the suspect a short time later. >> police say ensor faces at least three attempted car theft charges, carjacking, and he's being held without bond. . clouds moving over top of the baltimore area and they'll thicken as the evening goes on. let's take you to dundalk and hanover where temperatures are in the low 50s, upper 40s. you'll see the feels like temperature in anne arundel county a little bit cooler than the actual temperature murdered in lance down over the weekend. tracy bowers died after he was found shot several times. police have little information on suspects and they're asking anyone who may have seen anything to bag trucks on the penn, camden, and brunswick lines. towson university is hoping to snuff out smoking for good on campus by next year. the policy has not been finalized yet but administratesors are working with the student government to create the smoke-free ban. the goal is to have student involvement during the entire process to become smoke free. the ban is set for august the 1st, 2010. baseball hall of famer brooks robinson had a lot of magical nights and tonight was another memorable one for one of our favorite baltimore orioles. >> reporter: he was the guest of honor and the sports legends really came out. they were all there, palmer, layer and dempsey, all here to play tribute to one of the most beloved orioles, brooks robinson. >> i thought i was all finished with the adulation but nice to see so many people here and beyond the call of duty for so many of them. >> reporter: the event? a fundraiser for the babe ruth museum. that other athlete who like brooks is taking the city by storm. >> the fact i lived here, my children grew up here, and i tell you what, it's come back tenfold to me because i mean i can be walking down the street and i have people hanging out of cars saying, hey, brooks, remember me? you signed that ball back in '64. >> reporter: an amazing night, really. our love affair with him is far from over. listen to the guys who know him best and what he means to this city. >> never mind his accomplishments on the field, but i think more so again what he did in the community and in the clubhouse and for baseball in general. putting baltimore on the map. again, i just can't thank him enough. >> the man just was a perfect, perfect ball player and a teammate, and ever since i've known him since 1963 when i came to baltimore, he's been the same brooks robinson ever since i met him. >> he's very empathetic, very caring person. i don't find that quality in a heck of a lot of people. he's a special guy. >>
