personal information. bogus emails could trick you in this week's scam alert. >> reporter: we're months from april 15th. you still have plenty of time before you have to think about crunching moneys but scammers are sending emails using claims of missed refunds to troy to get your information. take a look at this information the bbb sent. it says upneed to verify your status as a citizen and complete this form and asks for tons of sensitive information and a copy of your passport but it's a phishing scam. so is this one the bbb tweeted about which said you're eligible for a refund. just fill out the attached form and you're good to go. with both these emails, sending them back gives scammers information your personal information. the irs never discusses information by email. hit
